Beautiful…. If not broken.
Ordered 2 and I’m glad I did! One arrived in perfect condition, the other was broken in multiple areas (leg, nose, ear, rim of bowl) and was beyond just cosmetic damage.Very heavy… fragile, but heavy and I love the one that arrived without being broken.

Pestle isn’t shaped like the one in picture
The pestle is a different shape than in the picture. I wanted it shaped like the one in the picture. It also doesn’t look like it’s made out of the black lava. Maybe cement? And the pestle is chipped. After visiting Mexico last week and learning how to use a molcajete, I was so excited to purchase this because it was the same size as the one I used, and the pestle was shaped like the one in the picture. I’m so disappointed. I wonder if there’s a way to exchange the pestle for the one that looks like the picture. And one that isn’t chipped. I did a lot of research to find that shape of pestle.

Came chipped. Haven’t used it I guess it’s pretty seasoned. Don’t know much about it yet. Seems dusty. Will wash before use. As long as it makes good salsa then whatever
