Well-packed, no leaks or dents, QUICK delivery !!
Let's clear up some misconceptions about Lyle's Golden Syrup (or just Golden Syrup as it's known across the British Empire and its colonies) that my American brethren have mentioned in their reviews !! This is not a "corn syrup alternative" as other reviewers are labeling it: this is a superior 100% CANE SUGAR product and because of its ingenious manufacturing process, has an entirely DELICIOUS and UNIQUE flavor that nasty "corn syrup" or added-sugar products can't hope to replicate. It's treacle-flavor profile is difficult to describe because there's nothing quite like it. Thick and sticky at room temperature. The warmer it gets, the runnier it gets. Drizzle it on pastries, bake with it.. and it's heavenly with cream. I put it on my oatmeal AKA porridge. I put it on my breakfast cereal. My ice-cream. Waffles. Apple pie. Anything. This is not to be abused by diabetics!! It's highly addictive !' If you develop a Golden Syrup habit and are lousy with the toothbrush, kiss your teeth goodbye. This stuff literally FUELED the British people during WW2 (it was deployed as a sugar ration) and I'm CERTAIN it led them (along with Yorkshire puddings and PG Tips) to victory (alongside our Yanks, of course).Note - the tinned packaging is the "original" version of Golden Syrup - thick like molasses. The "squeezable" bottles are the "baking syrup" version. Tastes the same, just thinner/runnier. I prefer the tins myself. Now, the tin metal is thinner than a Campbell's Soup can which is why they're susceptible to denting which possibly can lead to leaking. The tins are shipped from Britain. I've ordered tins probably a dozen times via Amazon (48 tins total over 6 years) and only had 1 tin arrive dented and leaking. No problems with this vendor, packaged and sealed in bubble wrap.

Delicious!!!!
I found a recipe that listed 'golden syrup', not a common ingredient in American cooking. I did some checking and some said you could use corn syrup as a replacement. Trust me, you don't want to do that! It was an epic fail. SO, off to Amazon I go to find actual golden syrup. If you've never had golden syrup before prepared to be amazed (IMHO), it's the consistency of honey (so thicker than most American syrups) and is rich and sort of caramely in flavor. It has a flavor that somehow reminds me of something from my childhood that I can't place. It's great for baking or just putting on pancakes/biscuits/yogurt/whatever.I've ordered from this seller twice so far and just put in my 3rd order. My 1st order came very well packaged, no dents, no leaks, no problems. 2nd order there were a few dents and one of the cans was leaking, no worries, I was using it right away anyway. So I'd say the packaging is hit or miss.I think it's a great product and I don't think the price is excessive, tho I've seen it listed at prices I wouldn't pay but if you keep checking the price and order when it's low the value is excellent. I'm a HUGE fan of Lyle's Golden Syrup.

Great for mooncakes
I ordered these for my wife to use in mooncakes. She tried making her own syrup and it just wasn't the same. This is great quality syrup. Some of the cans came slightly dented and a little sticky but it didn't affect the syrup itself. The cans don't stack very well. This syrup is perfect for mooncakes and I will be purchasing this again once we run out.

We have a problem - Shipping!
The product is great. It has such a unique taste. My parents were from Canada so I had this from my youth. The only issue is the tins get beat up during shipping and 2 of the 4 leaked. Not horrible, but was a bit of a sticky mess.

Very disappointed... all cans leaked!
I purchased the Lyle's Golden Syrup so I could bake some UK recipes that called for it. It is a very tasty syrup that has no equivalent in the USA. You can substutute light corn syrup, but you don't get that wonderful light butterscotch flavor the golden syrup has. But I was very disappointed when I opened the box to find a very sticky mess. I noticed one of the cans was badly dented and saw the it was leaking at the seam. I assumed this was the only source of the leaking syrup. However, once I got all the cans cleaned up, I could see they were ALL leaking around the top lid! There is a clear cellophane type cover that appears to serve the purpose of keeping the metal lids from coming off in shipping. All of the lids had popped upwards and were pressing against the cellophane covering. The lids did not come off, but had loosened enough to allow syrup to leak out. Some was still trapped under the cellophane. I had to pour what syrup remained in the cans into another container. I estimate I lost about 1-1/2 cans of syrup. I guess I need to find another source for this item, one that does a better job of packing them for shipment. There was no packing in the box; the four cans were in a bundle together just bouncing around in the box.

Required for baking!
I used to be able to purchase this at several local grocery stores but no longer. It is an absolute MUST for several recipes, I would be lost without it.

Great syrup, terrible seller
First off - I love this syrup. It is thicker than American corn syrup and it has a richer taste. It can be used interchangeably with all of my American recipes. I thought this was a great deal for four cans as I am trying to reduce my use of plastic. However, the seller (simply beautiful) did not package it adequately and all the cans came dented and three were leaking. My great deal has now turned into one can for $18. No deal at all and no refunds accepted. Lesson learned - I should have believed the one star reviews. I gave the seller one star for my seller review but since this review is for the syrup itself - which is wonderful - I gave the syrup four stars.
