CLOVE + HALLOW Lip Velvet - Vegan Natural 24 Hour Liquid Matte Lipstick - Uptown

I’m always looking for a good quality lipstick that will stay on all day. I’m pretty happy with my current lipsticks, but the fact that this one was smudge proof caught my attention. After applying exactly as directed (I only dipped the wind once prior to application), I ended up with a beautiful matte color that was indeed smudge-proof and yes, kiss-proof. I even ate a meal with minimal color being stripped off my lips. I’m not too rough with my lips, so perhaps that helped it stay on longer. I’m a fan!

I decided to try this lipstick after seeing an ad for it in Oprah magazine. It is highly pigmented and does, indeed, feel like velvet on my lips. The color is very deep and rich, and I advise the user to apply it very carefully since it dries pretty quickly and does not budge. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the color is not what I was expecting when compared to the image in the magazine ad.

This is a pretty color but every time I put it on I end up with it all over my teeth and end up wiping it all off.

Absolutely the best non-toxic, long lasting lipstick I've found so far. I purchased the color Uptown, and was happy to find it is easy to apply, looks great, and isn't drying or flacky or sticky like other brands I've tried. It survived a whole day of wedding food and drinks, and was still photo perfect at the end of the day without touch ups! I definitely recommend exfoliating immediately prior to applying, and then putting on just one layer (the pigmentation is great, multiple coats aren't needed). I will definitely need to try more colors!

I ordered the uptown color, it wasn’t exactly the color I wanted but it’s the only one amazon offered. I don’t really wear lipstick so the color was a little too dark for me but it is a really pretty color.What I like about this lipstick:It goes on easily, it has no taste or smell, it didn’t even feel like I was wearing lipstick. It is smudge proof.Dislikes:It definitely does not last all day. I needed to reapply after meals. I was really hoping to put it on once and not have to worry about it again.I would like to try another color.

Wears well. True matte. Just wish there were a lighter pink (but not pale). Wears and feels like a lipstick, not a slimy gloss.

Out of all my non toxic lippies Clove and Hallow stays on the longest. Love the bold colors also. Looks even better with a lip liner.

Returned!! It lasted less than 30 minutes... bled into my upper lip but the color was good.No go in my book.
