Is it because of the silver, like silver nitrate used in cauterizing?** A: I don't find that it stings me but I now use them over Adaptic guaze because Silver calcium alginate wound dressing pads on the bare wound would pull off the skin from the sides of the wound. **Q: Does it have oil in it?** A: I don't believe so. It's a seaweed based material with silver in it. It's not oily to the touch. I'm not sure if you're worried about texture or allergies.
