Our dogs' favorite! The yellow is perfect.

We had a pool party for four dogs and this floating toy was the winner in color, size and durability. The 75 pound GSP puppy gave it a work out, but it held up better than any other floating pool toy we had. We'll just monitor him a little closer with the two new ones we just purchased. So glad we purchased this! Oh yes, it's a great tug toy!

It's not a chew toy!

We actually bought two. The first one, was destroyed in a matter of minutes, as we thought the fire hose was indestructible....wrong. The second one we bought has held up pretty well. We've had it a month and starting to see a little tearing on the ends, only because our dog likes to play tug-of-war with it on occasion, when he returns it.

Perfect retrieve and tug toy for an Australian Cattle Dog!

Toy floats well, perfect size for a 38 pound Australian Cattle Dog, easy to throw and retrieve. Kenji loves the feel ( almost like a real live critter) of the tug during our play, he grabs and thrashes the middle of the tug with all his might while I’m holding the ends. We practice his OUT command, he is rewarded immediately by a bit more tug play or a game of fetch. Toy has not shown any damage so far, he is NOT allowed to chew the toy. Highly recommend as a tug AND fetch toy!

Sturdy but eventually sink:(

Our water-crazed dog loved this toy but after a few weeks of playing fetch in the water (and putting it away when we weren't playing with it) it no longer floated, which was disappointing. The second one is having the same issue. We did not allow our dog to tear it up at all, so I'm not sure what happened.

New Favorite Toy

We purchased this for our pup who likes to fetch in the pool. He was getting too much water in his mouth with the balls. This works great! He absolutely loves it - in and out of the water. We have been playing tug for almost an hour, and it is still in one piece. We did have to cut some strings off of it, and we aren't allowing him to just chew on it. It is also easy for him to grab in the water.

NOT FOR LARGE DOGS!

I got the toy from Amazon, fast and undamaged, and wanted to immediate play with my German Shepherd dog with it, so I took him to our favorite lake to swim and fetch. The toy, when brand new, feels like it has some sort of air bladder inside of it, I presumed to help make it float. I don't know if that's the case, but it felt like that. When we got to the lake, and I was throwing it in the water for him, he was really having a blast. Of course, he would bite the toy while he was swimming back to me (he is a 16 month old 75 lb puppy) with it in his mouth. On one of the trips back, when he bit the toy, I heard a popping sound, like a large bubble wrap popping. I thought that was strange, but kept on playing with him, because it was only 3 water fetches into our play time. The next time he brought the toy back, he chomped it again while swimming back to me, and I heard another popping sound. When I squeezed the toy this time, it felt like it had deflated from when I had first gotten it. Two more throws into the playtime, and the toy became water logged. It was now barely floating above the water and I was afraid it was going to sink, leaving my poor puppy swimming in circles looking for a sunken toy that he could not retrieve. I did not want him to tire and drown due to a $14.00 purchase mistake. To be clear, my dog was never left to chew on the toy, he would chew the toy on his return to me, and give me the toy when he reached shore where I was waiting. The outside of the toy had teeth marks and the stitching on the one end was unraveling and beginning to unravel on the other end as well. So, in summary, the buoyancy of the floating toy, was compromised in 20 minutes of play and the stitching on the ends was unraveling. The toy was so full of water, that I had to wring it out before getting in the truck with it to go home. Every dog is going to chew on ANY toy they are fetching it and bringing it back to you because it is their nature. My puppy basically had the thing rendered useless as a floating toy within 20 minutes.

20 minutes: my German Shepherd puppy had it in shreds.

Shoulda' taken a photo... My 7-mo.-old GSD puppy methodically pulled all the threads on one end of this cheap item, got it open, and strew the stuffing throughout the house. I get it: "this is not a chew toy." But news flash: dogs chew. If we were just using this as a training tool, my puppy would've done the same thing but it would have just taken 20 hours instead of 20 minutes. Also, it's smaller than you might think. Stick with Kong toys. They're the best. Want a floating training toy? Go with the floating Kong Wuba.
