I've been buying these since beauty school in the 1990s. Wow. 30 years? Yup. I'll be buying them for at least 30 more years, too. The four grits are the perfect step-down to a perfect, smooth, shiny surface on nails, stones, metals, plastics, paints, wood... Not so much on glass, obsidian, or opals, though. Anything really brittle (chippy) needs an actual lapidary with running water and diamond grits. But, for the rest of the world, this file can make it shine, shine, shine. Just make sure to start each color a bit heavy-handed and let up to barely touching before moving to the next one. Blue, then pink, then white, and then gray to buff up that perfect shine. If it doesn't do it, you rushed one. (Probably blue or pink. Just start over.) Happy polishing! :-)

After a botched visit to the nail salon, I decided to do my own nails. I searched high and low for something cost effective that would still give me a clean, manicured look. This tool from Tropical Shine was the answer to my prayers...when I say it makes your nails SO SHINY, I mean it! I had previously tried a fancy pants glass polisher and it didn't do as good of a job as this Tropical Shine 4-way tool. I have used these nail files for years and keep one in my purse at all times. I am not a big salon person and this file helps me keep file, shape, buff and shine on my bare nails. It seems that they are smaller than they used to be but they work great and last a long time. These are one of my favorite things!

These are GREAT! I couldn't be without one. You can even use the smoothest side (the grey) to polish your jewelry. I swear - no scratches and beautiful shine on my gold and silver. Doesn't take off any metal - just tarnish. Better than my lapidary buffer-that takes away metal too. Just imagine what it can do for your nails. Can polish up that scratchy lost it's shine last coat of nail polish instead of adding a clear coat. Or buff up those no polish nails and shine shine shine. They seem to last forever too. Don't ever use an emery board - they will ruin your nails. This one has 4 textures from Blue-rough, pink-medium, white-smooth, and grey-polish. I miss the round ones that you could bend to smooth the underside of your nails - so TROPIC SHINE if you read this - bring then back - please :)

Y'all, I have been using these Tropical Shine 4-way sticks since I was in middle school. My mom used to get them from Sally's and we'd lay across her bed listening to music and file, buff, and shine our nails. I love how these remove the ridges on top of your nails and the shine at the end?! Unmatched. I rarely wear polish on my nails because I love how this nail file keeps them looking so healthy and natural. I hope these never get discontinued, I don't know what I'd do without them!!

I have one of these in every room. These are well made, work great and I regularly use all 4 options. For some reason my nails have been chipping more with age so I'm always getting that little snag on fabrics. I use these to file down the chip, then smooth it out so it doesn't keep re-occurring.
