If you're a purist, you'd rather have a wooden pizza peel...they don't transmit any heat and you can get a nice sized pie on one...or turn a pie pretty easily with one. Honestly, I think I prefer the traditional wooden peel when using my home pizza oven. However, this one works just fine, especially on smaller personal sized pies since the peel itself is only 12" wide and 14" long. You do have to put this peel together as it ships in a smaller square box...it's not a big deal...the handle attaches to the peel and there is a silicone sleeve that you can put on part of the handle to protect your hand from the heat. Most times, this probably would not be an issue for you, but if you use it a lot it will get quite hot. Aluminum transmits heat very well and the tubular handle and the flat peel surface are made with anodized aluminum. (advantage to wood here). The entire tool is fairly lightweight and easy to handle, though the smaller peel surface does have some issues with larger sized pizzas. For the price it's a decent and durable option.

The length of the handle is perfect for a 900 degree pizza oven. A little small thought. heavy duty for the price.

This is a great peel. It can be used fully extended or use with 1 arm. Our kitchen oven has a clearance issue , we will not be able to extend it out using the 2 arms. You can install one arm and take the silicone butt from the second extension and put it on the one you installed. I know it does not make sense now but it will when you are looking at the product! The image looks like a longer spatula or fly swatter. However this is actually a big peel. It's almost 12 across on its widest setting. It can handle most pizzas with ease. It's thin enough to scrape pizza off a brick or metal oven should your pizza stick to it. It works as it should. It has a nonstick coating. I would recommend it!

I got this to be able to use in conjunction with my original Uuni pizza oven. Between the two, I like this one for the longer handle. I have not tried making and loading a pizza on this peel, just for turning and pulling after it is baked in 90 seconds or so, and helps keep my hands away from the 940 degree oven. The peel feels well made and fairly certain I will have this for many years to come. Next time, I may try making a pizza on this peel to see how the soft dough I make will be handled on the patterned holes in this peel. I'm a litle worried the dough and sauce could indent and catch while trying to get it off the peel.

Good peel for use with the outside pizza oven I have acquired. This helps get pizzas in and out, and definitely is a required part of pizza oven use.
