Power Failure Alert and Internet Outage Detector with Text Message and Email Notifications

Excellent product for the modern home (meaning the home that has way too much tech!!) I've got several UPS's and all my critical electrical circuits are on a battery and generator backup system, so I really wanted to know, quickly and easily, when my grid power goes out. Similarly, my home network is kinda over-complicated, with a cable modem, a dedicated firewall/router, network switch, and mesh wifi. A nice clear text to my phone when the internet drops is really appreciated. The MySpool solved both problems simultaneously, with no hassle. And I appreciate that MySpool is an American company with local servers, not based in China. The only confusing step was that MySpool uses the AWS system for their email alerts, so you have to pay attention and be careful to accept a prompt from AWS to be added to an AWS distribution list, then do a little magic with your email account so you won't accidentally unsubscribe or send your alerts to your spam bucket. That is well documented on their web page. All in all, I'm quite satisfied. If you need alerts for other services/events (temperature, moisture, etc) MySpool has a pretty full range of them, too.

I like it very much. This is like having two devices, one for A/C and one for internet alerting. You know when you lose power and when you lose internet. Setup was easy, I just followed the 3 steps in the manual. Ignore 'connected with no internet' that your phone says, it thinks you are connecting it to another wi-fi.

Item didn't work. Contacted support and they promptly sent me another unit. Unfortunately, that one didn't work either. I've tried getting both to work on several wifi networks while using several devices to connect with, and haven't been able to get it working. The issue is after connecting to the units WiFi network, I can't click the blue buttons in their app, none of them function. Wish this would have worked because I want this functionality.

The one negative that I noticed is that a short power outage lasting 15 seconds or less will may not be detected. As we have very short outages, this could present issues due to a code required panel GFCI breaker tripping. Specially if the tripped breaker controls a circuit including a refrigerator or freezer when we are away.

Functions as advertised and was a reasonable value, especially with NO ongoing monthly subscription! Setup was easy, and instructions clear. When I did have a support question they responded the next day. Alarms come to my text. Noticed fluctuations in my internet service that I had not detected before. Thank you. Would buy again.

I love this device, it's the third one I've bought from them. So handy for remote monitoring. Especially useful for knowing "Is it just the Internet that's out, or is the power out?" problem. Took 2 minutes to set up. Very easy.

Effortless to setup. Works Great! I have never had any issues with ANY of the MySpool devices I have purchased. I have occasionally asked a question or two, and each time they are very quick to provide an answer to my question.

Stopped working approx 1 month after purchase. Support is terrible. Purchased another brand...

Not really suitable for Australia customers tbh. Can get notifications via email but have been unable to work out how to get sms notifications.

The product is operating as advertised. Delivery was fast, set-up was straight forward, technical support was immediate. All good. 😀 To complete the set-up for power outage a UPS power supply is needed.
