We recently evacuated due to a massive hurricane and we were terrified of running out of gas and being stranded on the road. So, before we headed back home, we got some 5-gallon gas cans so we never have to worry again. My husband asked me, do you know how much 5 gallons of gas weighs? We found out that the weight of a gallon of gasoline is around 6 pounds. A full gas can would then weigh close to 30 pounds! That was a reality check! If I was stranded and alone, could I easily lift a 30-pound gas can by myself and tilt it just right to get the nozzle into the opening? It would be a serious struggle!!So that’s when I ordered this Fuel Pump! I can leave the heavy gas can on the ground and attach this fuel pump and then I could as easily put fuel in my tank as I do at the gas station. I’m so glad this amazing product exists! We tested it out and the pump perfectly fits on our standard red plastic gas cans. A sturdy vinyl hose leads to the handle where an on/off switch allows us to start and stop the flow of gas that is being pumped. I appreciate that it has an auto-stop sensor on the nozzle so we don’t accidentally have a spill or overflow. This company obviously put a lot of thought into the design of this product and used quality materials so it will be dependable when we are in an emergency and need it the most!I just have a few unanswered questions about this product. The instructions say to not leave any fuel in the hose after use. How do I clean it out after I’ve pumped gas through it? It seems like there would be some remaining gas residue throughout the entire unit even if I pump all the gas out. It also says not to store it in an airtight container. So how should I safely store it? Will it have volatile vapors? How do I ensure it does not create a fire risk? I wish the instructions contained more detailed information like this.

I recently purchased the TERA PUMP Auto Stop Fuel Pump for transferring gasoline and diesel, and overall, I’m really pleased with its performance—just with a minor caveat regarding its pumping speed.Pros:The US Patented Power Switch Nozzle and built-in adapter are fantastic. The nozzle offers a nice, smooth flow, and I really appreciate the auto-stop feature, which prevents spills and overflows. It's super convenient when refueling vehicles, equipment, or generators.The flexible intake hose (51.2") is long enough to reach most fuel tanks with ease, and I love that it includes a utility jug adapter, making it versatile for different containers.The two levels of protection (including the auto shut-off) give me confidence that I won’t make a mess or accidentally overfill my tanks. This has saved me time and effort on several occasions.Cons:My only complaint is that the pumping speed is a bit slower than expected. It runs at a maximum flow rate of 2.3 GPM, and while that’s adequate, it’s not as fast as I hoped, especially when transferring larger amounts of fuel. It’s definitely slower than traditional gas station pumps, so it might take a little extra time if you're in a hurry.Despite the slower pumping speed, I’m still satisfied with the purchase. The quality of construction is solid, and the convenience of the auto-stop nozzle and extra adapters makes it a great tool for anyone who frequently needs to transfer fuel.If you don’t mind a slightly slower flow rate, this pump is an excellent choice. I’d still highly recommend it for its ease of use and thoughtful design!

I absolutely love this pump. I’ve been wanting an electric gasoline pump for a while now and just couldn’t decide on what style I wanted. I’m glad that I got this one over a stick style pump.I can’t speak to the fit of the gas can threads-as my primary can is a metal Jerry can with the oval, latching lid, and my other can is one with a screen built in. So I couldn’t screw it in, but it still fit inside my Jerry can and worked great. In less than 3 minutes the fuel was pumped from the can into my equipment. (I just needed to tilt the can a little at the end.)At this price point, it’s definitely an investment, but one that I think is worth it. It seems well engineered, but I have no idea how long the plastic will survive.The only downside I noticed is that it has a max operating time of 5 minutes, with 10 minutes rest in between. If you’re only pumping 1 or 2 5 gal cans, then it’s not an issue; but it would make larger quantities take an excessive amount of time.
