One modification makes this perfect.
Pretty good, but the rail mount is separate from the tablet mount. The tablet mount does not snap into the rail mount it is only a slip fitting so there is the potential for the tablet mount to slip off the rail mount. I super glued it together and it works great, but before I did that my tablet took a couple dives. But because the tablet mount can accommodate my tablet with my unicorn beetle case on the dives weren't terminal.

Just what I was looking for!!!
I ordered this mount to be able to use apps on both my tablet and phone on the helm of my sailboat to navigate, until I get my chartplotter installed. It was exactly what I needed after the first mount I ordered from another vendor didn't work out. It seems sturdy and well-made. I can't wait to try it out this weekend. I love that it comes with a rechargeable power source to extend the use of my devices. It was also easy to assemble. I am very pleased with this item!

Perfect navigation companion for boats
I bought this product to use as a day sailing mount and I really like way it fits on my boat. You can use a tablet or a phone (it has two options). We use it even more than our Garmin because I Run Navionics on my phone and the charts are up to date. The product comes with a battery that is great because I can be on the bay the whole day and still have power on my phone at the end of the day, the battery can be removed to charge. I recommend this as a boat mount.

Great product - wish I found this earlier
The product works as advertised. After receiving the product, I followed the directions and installed; I use as a backup running Active Captain. A great feature is the product acts as a battery, which is extremely useful as it prolongs my phones battery and it eliminates the fear of being out with a dead phone/ipad. I ordered using amazon prime, and so the product came within 2 days. Definitely recommend the product and the instructions are easy to follow.

great idea, cheap plastic
Great idea, but really cheap plastic. First clamp lasted a few months, on the second one now. Design idea is great, but cheaply made. Probably the last season for this then garbage. Too bad.

Breaks easily
I wanted to like this product, but it's just too chincy for use on a boat. My first time out with it was fine, but if there's any kind of wind or swell, it has a good potential to break as the plastic is thin. The first time I had to lean against the binnacle for balance, the unit broke and my phone was on the cockpit sole. Disappointing.If you baby it, you may have better luck.

Great Backup for our Chart-plotter. We like that we can use with our iphone or ipad, this comes with a battery so we can plug while underway
