Excellent Scissors
I purchased these to use while my "antique" Japanese shears are being sharpened. I am very pleased with these scissors. They are are nicely weighted and balanced. They are also comfortable in the hand while cutting. Although not heavy, they are NOT flimsy and feel very durable. Cutting is smooth and effortless..."it cuts like butter." This is through denim, and glides through four layers of cotton/poly fabric. The true test is to see how long they stay sharp. Overall, I'd recommend these shears for sewing and craft projects.

It’s surprisingly good!
KAI Scissors 7230 9in Shears, it’s surprisingly good, better than my Guggenheim, let’s see how long it will hold the sharpness, time will tell. The cut is perfect just like my Gingher ones, with the advantage of being lighter. Although my Gingher ones struggle less cutting through several layers of heavy fabrics, the Kai one can do it but struggles a bit.

Life changing improvement over other "good" fabric scissors.
I am an upholstery fabric designer, so needless to say I am cutting very heavy weight fabrics almost daily. After 10 years of using what I thought were good fabric scissors (ginghers, expensive fiskars, rotary cutters, etc), I started developing hand and wrist pain. I ordered these desperate for relief. I will never go back to anything else now! With these I can cut three layers with the same resistance as just one layer before. I can honestly cut 5 layers at once if I am really trying to save time. And one layer feels easier than cutting printer paper with regular paper scissors. I am so impressed. I also like that they can be taken apart to be sharpened. I am a woman with medium sized hands and these 9" shears are the perfect size for me.

Best scissors ever!!
I am a quilter so I depend on high quality scissors and these meet every expectation. They are sharp, cut to the point and fit my hand comfortably. I also have the 8 inch size as well. I highly recommend both for ease and accuracy in cutting fabrics. Exce option!

Yes, they are that good!
I have used Gingher scissors for many, many years. They were always the best quality, easy to sharpen and lasted forever (or so I thought). BUT- I needed to get a new pair because right now I could not find anyone to sharpen my Ginghers. So I started reading reviews. Kai had the best reviews. I could not decide between the 8- 9- or 10 inch. My Ginghers were 8 inch. But maybe they were a bit short. They certainly became uncomfortable with a few hours of use. So I watched the video produced by Kai comparing the different sizes. I decided to go with the 9. In a perfect world I wish I could have afforded the 8 and the 10. I find the 9 inch a bit long for curves- but maybe I will get use to it. These are sharp! I have used them on microfiber, rayon, cotton, polyester. Fabrics that use to snag like the microfiber cuts like butter (yes I did say that!). After use, get rid of any lint. I suggest blowing on them or wipe them down with a lint free cloth. This will keep them sharp longer. Also, put them back in their sheath. I can't say enough nice things about these scissors.

Excellent quality
These are excellent fabric scissors. They are worth the expense. They cut through several layers of fabric very easily.

Smooth, beautiful, super sharp, the best!
The best shears I've ever had. Within the last few years I bought at least 10 different kinds and had to return most of them. Having small/medium hands and partial disability in the grip function, it is a challenge for me to find comfortable scissors. Fortunately, these are superb! I would like to have a little smaller handle though but it's impossible to find. On the picture it looks like the size of the handle is just right but it is a bit loose for a person with small fingers. The blades are super sharp and incredibly smooth. It is truly a pleasure to use them. Beautiful craftsmanship! 9-inch shears are great size, 10-inch though are only bigger in the size of the handle and probably are more comfortable for people with big hands. Overall these are a dream come true shears. Highly recommend.

KAI = Quality
Economical & great value. Lightweight, sharp, easy to manipulate, easy to sharpen with a pro sharpening rig. Sharpening by hand filing is not difficult but is quite dangerous, requiring a bit of strength and a steady hand.

I sew for fun only. I haven't sewn much lately as my interest comes-and-goes. I have never invested in fabric shears because I've only ever considered this a hobby so I'll just make do with what I already have. I mean, the scissors I used to cut fabric was dedicated to just cutting fabric, but it was just a pair of scissors. I actually didn't use it all the time because it was a bit stiff and made my hands feel tired, so I actually resorted to a rotary cutter more. But this year, as I found a pattern that interested me, I said, "to heck with it! I'll suck it up and buy a pair of proper fabric shears." After some quick research on the best shears for smaller hands, I decided on this pair and the price was around the same as if I drove to a shop carrying the same. I bit the bullet and ordered it. Holy heck, I really should've did this years ago! Having scissors that cut fabric like buttah' makes the entire cutting process.....dare I say it? Enjoyable. When I first took it out of the box and placed it in my hand, I thought, this is too loose. Is it going to cut? Did they forget to tighten that 'screw'? And then I tried making a cut. Fabric laid flat, bottom blade resting on the surface, cut. Wait, did I go through the motion of cutting already? That's how easy it feels on the hand - you really don't have to muscle up to make any cuts - it just happens. Long cuts are effortless and clean, making the process of cutting out your pieces so quick. If you're like me and thinking it's ridiculous to spend so much money on a pair of scissors, push that thought aside. A good pair of fabric shears is a game changer. Even if you opt to go with a different brand or model, it will make a difference. If you consider yourself to have smaller hands, this pair really is perfect. The 9-inch blade is a great length, especially for long, straight cuts. It feels sturdy while still being light-in-hand so it would take a lot of cutting before fatigue sets in IMO. The handle shape are designed well/are comfortable to use. I highly recommend this pair.
