It's obscene! When I say clear I mean CRYSTAL and that includes NONE of those floating particles that look like dust! If it wasn't for the the soft flickering of the hood light due to water movement, you wouldn't even know there's water in the tank! I have the Fluval stock sponge on the bottom, then a bag of Matrix and then a Purigen bag on the top. I keep the Poly Filter pad on the other side, in the intake compartment where it fits perfectly on the side of the intake pipe. I cut the pads to 2"x2.5" and it's as if they were made for my filter. I change the Poly Filter pad approximately every 2 weeks or less because I'm totally anal about water clarity. These products together provide STUNNINGLY CLEAR WATER! **Q: Where do you place this? I have a 32 Biocube.** A: I’m not familiar with a 32 bio cube. However, all filters basically work the same way. Just cut it to fit whatever holder you have. It’s relatively expensive for what it is but it’s by far the best filter I’ve ever used. Just make sure you have a good water flow running through it. **Q: Does poly filter have a micron rating?** A: I don't see one listed on the bag. **Q: Is this also for freshwater tanks? Will it help with a phosphate problem?** A: If you have a phosphate problem there's NOTHING that works like Seachem Phosguard and yes, Poly Filter is OUTSTANDING for freshwater. My son has a 10 gallon freshwater tank and I was having to change the water every few weeks or change out the filtration substrates every few weeks but one of the staff at the local aquarium shop suggested I use this. I don't know how it works but it filters out harmful chemicals and organic material from your tank and keeps the tank clean for much longer. I place a small strip (1/2 inch thick) of it in the filtration system and change out weekly. It turns color to indicate the filtered contaminate.
