Savoir-Faire Sennelier Oil Pastels Set 12/Pkg-Iridescents

You just can't beat Sennelier oil pastels! Yeah, they are expensive, but they are also worth every penny. Save up for them, if you need to. They are worth the wait! This particular set of irridescent colors produces thick, buttery marks, and the colors are very bright and shimmery. I've found these to be very useful for rendering jewelry and many other metallic objects. Worth trying out.

I didn’t know these existed. But now that I do they will be a staple. They are super creamy and easy to work with. Beautiful shades. Rich pigments. Chef’s kiss!!!!

The most beautiful oil pastels. They glide on like nothing else I've ever used, you almost sink into the page with the luxury of these.Now for the quibbles: there isn't much of a color spectrum per se, and Sennelier provides a regular black and a white oil pastel to work with these glorious angels. In other words, you're really getting 10 iridescent colors, the black and white allow you to manipulate intensity. At some point, you'll probably want to purchase turpentine spirits to play around with these: what you have are a range of silver, bronzes, golds, etc. (also one olive, one blue, one red, one pearl) that are best used when either highlighting or mixing with a base color, if you want vibrant colors.The colors are utterly rich, the pigment second to none, the lay down like velvet. These are like driving a Mercedes. Very hard to go back.I'm now jonsing for a complete set of Sennelier set of pastels.

As anybody who’s familiar with the Sennelier brand, you would expect a superior product. That’s precisely what you get with this set.So, why loss of a star? The packaging clearly states that there are 12 iridescent oil pastels in the box. But, actually there’s 10 iridescent oil pastels plus a regular white and a regular black.I don’t like being lied to.

The best brand for oil pastels, without a doubt. These are so beautiful, I use them for finishing touches, painting a sky with these is magical, a beautiful glow. I will definitely buy these again!
