It just helps it to stay in place. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product, works as advertised *by J***N on June 11, 2025* This is my second order for this product. I place it over my chest catheter to shower. Be aware that most adhesives, such as this one, will not adhere well to heavy chest hair and, if you place it directly over your bandaged catheter it will pull it all off when removing. I get around that by taping a piece of saran wrap over the catheter, then applying the product. Patience is a virtue when removing the backing material from the product once it's on your chest.
