I think this is a great tool that I don't enjoy using but love saving money, by using it. I have two decent size oaks in front and multiple trees in the back. This tool works great for trimming large, high limbs back away from house. Once you get the hang of it, for example it cuts only on the down stroke. I have saved hundreds and it just takes time, patience. If your doing a lot it will wear you down, however it still works. But for the occasion limb trim you should be fine. Everything pictured is exactly what you receive. I have owed this now for about 5 months. Still on the 1st blade. I recommend.

First, I would say that I would buy this again. Poles are long (longer than you can probably use) and pretty sturdy for the height. Blade is sharp. Extra blade is great to have and one of the reasons why I bought this product as compared to competition. Carry bag is essential as you approach the trees to get the correct height on the pole. Cutting high branches takes work so be prepared but that is to be expected and is manageable if you want a good shoulder/arm workout. Once I got "started" I found more and more low or dead branches to cut (some quite high). Very addicting. Also, the hooks on each end of the blade are essential for ease of cutting but also VERY helpful to grab dead vines on trees to pull down. The reason I only gave it four stars is because, on the second day, the rubber bottom and mid pole grip handle on the lowest pole both came off (I couldn't find them in the woods). At first I thought I left that pole section on the ground as I modified the pole height periodically but then (after looking around for them for a while) I realized they had just slid off since that end of the pole had no metal connector piece like the others. You don't really need the grips but they should have been more securely attached so a one star "demerit." Overall, very glad I bought this!

Works surprisingly well. I have a bunch of cottonwood’s, etc. and the blade on this works quite well. Cutting through even some branches over 3 inches in diameter. The pole, at full length, gets a little wobbly and for one person is hard to get up vertically, but once in position, it does a great job and for the price is very very well-made. I know I’ve saved quite a bit of money. Had I hired somebody to come out and get some of these branches off!

Admittedly, I have had this for only a short time, but I am impressed by this. I have tall coconut trees and have tried various poles including the "Notch 18’ Pole Saw Set with 15” Blade - Yellow (40207)". The tradeoff between weight, height, flexibility and strength of the poles is always there. The Notch is a shorter pole, sturdy but correspondingly much heavier. Using additional poles to get it to 24 feet requires considerable strength and balance to cut coconuts down from a tall tree. I have built my own larger poles by using high quality pool poles which are very light and flexible, but unfortunately, bend or break. This pruner comes in a convenient carry case which makes storage much easier. The Notch has 6 foot segments. The segments on this one is about 4 feet each. The trade off in being able to adjust the length to within 4 feet of what you desire, is that you have to spend more time assembling it if you want the full 30 feet. When I do screw in the different segments, there seem to be some metal shavings. I'm not sure if this is from the manufacturing process or if the grooves are being slowly damaged by the weight of the pole. The blades are sharp and cut through fronds or stalks holding coconuts, with comparative ease. Although it is lighter than the Notch, it is heavy and can be a challenge to handle at its full 30 feet. Lighter poles will be more fragile and appreciate the balance this pole offers. That being said, make sure you have an open area to bring the pole down. Once it starts coming down, it will be very difficult to stop, so have a clear area to let it drop as you do your best to slow the descent. Time will tell how long the groves used to join the poles hold.

Excellent set up, super sharp blades cuts through limbs up to 7"-8" inches with ease. Gets a bit heavy with all sections coupled together at max 30 ft. A great performer for high and low work all from the ground.

first off it works... but its super heavy and the taller the branch the harder it is to cut and maneuver the saw, when it arrives use lock tight on the screw mine worked lose and fell never to be seen again it definitely worked all my muscles in all the wrong ways but it cut all the branches with time and persistence. (On the plus side it cut the thick branches the poles are sturdy and the bag it comes with is super handy)

I bought one of these two years ago, and it has been a great tool that I use all the time. Recently I was using it to bring down a very large broken limb 30 feet up in a tree at my neighbor's house, but I got the blade hopelessly stuck when the limb settled and pinched the blade. So I came home and ordered a second one of these. It arrived in two days, and last night I went back and used it to "rescue" my first pole saw. Now I have two in case that ever happens again. The only problem I have had is the threaded sections becoming difficult to take apart if you leave them together too long, so I have started lubricating the threads periodically, and that has eliminated the problem. When using it at its full length, it is a bit awkward and heavy, but it is surprisingly resilient; I have banged it around pretty good, and it will flex almost into a half moon shape without breaking. One other thing to be aware of: as you are using it, some of the sections will start to unscrew, so every few minutes you have to turn the entire saw clockwise to snug those up, but that is no big deal. Overall, I have been very happy with this tool.

This is a great tool for those high branches. You will need to have strong arms to hold this pruner and have good balance with your arms because it will shift on you. My arms got tired after cutting 2 branches 25 feet high within 5 minutes. Take a rest and go back later to prune some more branches from the tree. It is worth the money to cut the branches down. The professionals will charge big bucks to cut the branches.
