Q: Is the sound quality actually better than the regular M6?

I prefer the sound quality over the regular M6. It is quite a bit more precise. (this is my opinion)...but, the m6 seems a little hot in the midrange frequencies for my liking. The bass is slightly more subdued with the Pro, however, the detail in sound makes it worth the purchase. (MEElectronics owned: M6, M6 Pro, A151p, Mduo, A161p)

Q: How long is the cable?

About 50 inches. I use mine with an 8 foot extension cable and that works well for me.

Your question makes me want to ask more questions. When you say EDM? are you producing in home, or on stage, or are you listening for recreational purposes? Though I kind of hope that you're doing none of those things (I'm kidding, listen to what you want), I can say that these in ear monitors have very honest sound. What I mean by that is you will have a VERY good balance of sounds that are true to the original recording, or live audio feed. A lot of people who are looking for recreational headphones for EDM are looking for something with A LOT of boosted low end. These do not have boosted low end because they were probably designed for musicians, and not DJs. What I CAN say is that the shure 215s are probably going to be a very similar product when it comes to audio range. I bought the MEElectronic M6s about two weeks ago and have since logged over 30 hours of recording as a drummer with them and they are incredible devices, given the price tag. I would HIGHLY recommend these to any musician looking for live or studio in ear monitors.
