works great but...
I brought this product because I wanted to transfer my data from PS1 to PS3 which is PS1/PS2 backward compatible, I also knew from the review I read on Amazon that adaptor was not compatible with PS1 card (third part version) but there is a work around for that. So did it work? am i happy with the product? the short answer is yes but.... Firstly the package arrived on time, well packaged and it really looks brand new (if like me you order other items from different vendor, some of them look like 2nd hand or pre-owned). So since I wanted to get my PS1 data in to my PS3 I did the following: - get MY PS1 card then transfer into an original PS2 memory card via a PS2 console (both PS2 card and console are from a friend of mine) - take the original PS2 card and plug into the adaptor. - plug the adaptor to My PS3 (via the USB port) then switch ON the PS3 - Went to game>memory utility, there the card adaptor was detected. If you have nothing it means your card is not detected. - Transfer the data to my PS3 console on a virtual PS1 card I created for it. - get all my data into my PS3.done There you will ask, so what's the problem???? My only beef is that on the back of the package you can read the following statement: - copy PS2 memory card data to and from PS3 - works with both PS1 & PS2 memory cards /!\ what????!!!! - connects to a USB port on the PS3 In case where for some impossible reason, I could not understand English anymore, I still can understand French, Italian and Spanish and they say the same thing. I obviously tried to plug my PS1 card before going on this troublesome procedure and it does not work. one can argue that's I knew what I was doing before I brought that item, true but it does not excuse the fact there is a wrong statement on the back of the package and lack of further indications stating that adaptor work only with original/official Sony PS2 memory card. This would have been not nice but necessary, cause as it stands this statement is just misleading. If there one suggestion I can make is that, adding a diode to indicate if the device is plug in or powered would have been a nice feature. This will avoid a lot of confusions and frustrations in case the card is not detected. I have to say I was lucky to have it works straight away but I would have been very annoyed if it did not work cause I would not know if the device was faulty or my memory card was not compatible. Hence why I put 4 stars, like other will tell you in every case scenario you will need an original PS2 card and your data to get that adaptor work. Note: PS1 original/official memory card does not work either on my case. Update 26/08/2012: For those who play PS1 games with an emulator (epsxe, virtual game station) on PC and want their saves to be transfer on Ps2 memory card using that adaptor, there is not application compatible with this adaptor. I found some application which works with the original/official PS2/PS3 adaptor but those application don't work with that one.

Great, but you might want to see if you can get second hand one
This little adapter works great, no instructions but then its not to hard to figure out. Although you can't Read / Write directly to the memory card when it is inserted you can copy the saves over. Now I have the PS3 Slimline as we know doesn't have PS2 compatibility (but still has the ability to have virtual PS2 cards) however I bought this to backup my PS1 saves, - which this says it does - however it doesn't read a PS1 memory card. However, following this little advice you can back-up your original PS1 saves (if you want to continue playing them on the PS3 - or if you downloaded some from the PSN Store) Using a PS2: -Insert PS1 Mem Card in slot 1 -Insert PS2 Mem Card in slot 2 -Browse the game saves on the PS1 card, and copy them over to the PS2 card (this does work - you cant load them off the PS2 card though) - using your PS3 and Card Adapter, insert the PS2 card, and create a Virtual PS1 Memory Card (I would reccomend a new one - calling it "Original PS1 Card" or something. Then, simply copy the saves from the PS2 card > the Virtual PS1 card, and hey presto, you have your 120Hour Final Fantasy VII game save on your PS3. Now, the main reason I wanted to do this, was for FFVII, I wanted to be able to continue my "perfect" file from my PS1 on my downloaded copy on the PSP, and thanks to this device and the PS3 converting the save into PSP format, I can do just that! It is a great peice of kit, however the price for something your really only going to use once is a bit meh. However I see it as a great investment, as I only have 1 PS2 Mem card, and I have loads of games that take up a load of space, that I wish to not delete, just incase I want to play them again, now I can just backup the card on the PS3 and erase everything knowing its backed up, and start again. If you only want to copy PS1 saves, then think about going halves with some friends, or looking for a pre-owned one.

Waste of money!
I bought this item looking forward to finishing some of my old PS2 games on my nice new shiny PS3. And as you can see from the title of my review this isn't going to happen. I plugged it in and NOTHING! It simply isn't recognized by my PS3. Save your money and buy an official Sony card adaptor. Better still find some friends with PS3s and split the cost. Otherwise you'll be paying money for a 10 minute proceedure and never need it again. Thank you Logic3 for a complete waste of time and money. Needless to say, this'll be winging its way back to Amazon for a refund!!

Does 1 of the 2 things it claims...
Does 1 of the 2 things it claims... It does accept & transfer PS2 data over to the PS3, but both the PS3 units I've owned, neither have been PS2 game compatible, however I have tried numerous times to get it to accept & transfer all 8 of my PS1/PSX data, & it doesn't work, & was the exact reason I purchased this product for. I should have took my time to read all the reviews, & wouldn't have bothered buying the product. I expected more, because I have owned Logic3 products in the past

Won't do ps1 saves liar!
Unless you go to the trouble of saving your ps1 saves on your ps2 card by file swapping then you can't have them on your ps3 so it LIES

Logic3 PS2 to PS3 Memory Card Adaptor (PS3) - No bad
Does exactly what I asked of it, using the USB port in the front of the Playstation, I can access the saved games of my PS2 games yet play them on the PS3. The age old problem of getting a new console is to be able to access PS2 saved data onto the new PS3, especially how there are no memory card slots and it all relies on a hard-drive. So for this invention, I say thank you Logic3, and kudos!

Share it with your friends!
This is a great product if you have been playing a PS2 game and you want to carry your save over on to the PS3 60gb, or even if you just want to back up your PS2 memory card on to your PS3. Very easy to use, no instructions supplied, but obvious what it required to use it. Once you insert your PS2 memory card, it pops up in the Memory cards menu. Then you will just need to create a PS2 memory card on the system and transfer your files over. I also tested this with PS1 memory cards, in the off chance that it might work, but it does not. It can be a expensive product for a one time use, so best thing to do then is check with friends who may need to do the same. Ultimately, you may end up selling this product on.

Bedingt ok
