Great portable workhoarse!I got my GT 1b and used it on an outdoor gig the next day. It was easy to use. The manual is clear and easy to follow.The preset sounds (except for a few really “out there” ones) are very usable right out of the box. All I did was add an octave to the first preset using the CTL button (very easy to program), and I was able to do an entire outdoor cover band show.I’m powering it with a rechargeable battery pack instead of the internal AA compartment, and it works flawlessly.The unit is compact, lightweight, but durable as well. Metal chassis, plastic buttons and foot pedal.I’m transitioning from one band to another, and with the new band, I’ll be going straight to the board from the GT 1b and everyone is on in-ear monitors, so my rig will consist of my bass, the GT 1b, and my in-ear monitors.My current band mates commented on how good the sound was, and really were impressed with the solid, thick tone when the octave was engaged.I only gave four stars for versatility because the ability to have foot-switchable (on/off) effects is limited without adding additional foot switches. A big part of choosing this unit, for me, was it’s portability, and adding extra foot switches would defeat that purpose. Luckily, my needs for on/off effects right now is limited. I actually loaded a separate preset to accommodate another more “synthy” sound. To get that I just tap the up arrow and advance to the next preset, and I’m ready.I haven’t checked out the Tone Central site through the computer yet, but I’m sure that will yield good, useful results as well.Also, the fact that the three big buttons light up for tuning makes it easy to use, even in bright sunlight.So if you don’t need to turn a bunch of effects on and off frequently, this unit would be a great addition to, or as in my case, a replacement for your pedalboard. Mine replaced a Line 6 X3 Live.

I went looking for something like the GT-100 for bass, and found this had come out. Compared to the GT-100, there are far fewer interesting patches available through Boss Tone Central, but also, a much greater proportion of the default patches on the unit are very usable out of the box. It has a lot of good sounds out of the box, and there are lots of parameters to tweak if you want do dial in some specific sound that isn't quite there. I haven't tried using the onboard controls for much. Like its cousin the GT-100, do yourself a favor, save your back, hook up the USB cable, and use the software. If you use a computer for recording, this unit makes it very easy to get great sounding bass tracks. It's very compact, convenient, and a great addition to my gear collection. I have no regrets. Especially for the relatively modest price.I deducted one star for the weirdness with not having a power adapter in the box, and the weirdness with using the instrument jack as an on switch. I'm not a big fan of either design choice, but they're both small matters in the scheme of things. I also find it annoying that I have to have two identical looking copies of Boss Tone Central or Tone Studio or whatever it's called, but the bright side is you can use both of them at the same time if you're also using a GT-100 or something else.

Wow ! Blown away at the versatility and ease of use ! Only took me a few minutes to get the pedal settings dialed in . Amazing !

I'm still learning to get the most out of this unit. The Studio software is key to making adjustments to patches. I love the idea of this unit (size, included effects, battery operated and programmability). Since I don't need to change patches intra-song this ticked all the boxes for me. I compared it to other units and this clearly came out on top.

Bought for my daughter who has been playing bass since 11 now 20 and the sound quality is great! She boasts this device is easy to use and works well with her bass and amp.

This is a great processor. All of the sounds are natural. The sounds do not seem processed. They make my bass guitar a legitimate competitor when it comes to true and natural music from a bass guitar. Also, the ability to further process what is already a great noise is perfect.

My husband loved it!! The perfect Christmas gift for him!
