Does this accomodate the larger, super-size paper towel rolls?

Yes. My husband bought the biggest size Bounty makes and he was surprised that it fit. I don't have specific measurements, but I hope that helps. We really like it so far. Super easy to change rolls.

Can it be hung vertically

I hung it upside down and vertically. What a disaster. The paper towels unravel downwards nonstop… very annoying! Maybe it won’t do that if you hang it vertically upright. Had to remove and will rehang horizontally.

Is it level if you mount it under a cabinet?

The open end of mine is tilted up about a quarter of an inch so that the roll of towels is not level. I had to install a quarter-inch piece of wood under the end screw to get the towels level.

How long is the rod for the paper towel?
