Good processor
Up until now, it is good but you really need to manually adjust its PPT, TDC and EDC to limit power or just use Eco Mode (65W mode which will definitely boost to something higher but it will be within safer limits) present in AMD overclocking options in Gigabyte BIOS. Apply undervolt on per core basis, test and then it runs at much lower temperatures. I'm using a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO air cooler, temps were touching near ceiling of max temps under synthetic loads like cinebench which is the expected behavior. After the modifications, it now goes around 70-75 under synthetic load and around 55-62 under gaming load on same cooler. Temps can go up if ambient temperatures are too much, obviously. I'll edit the review later if needed.

Top-Tier Gaming CPU – Amazing Performance and Value After 2 Years
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Incredible Gaming Performance and Value I’ve been using the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D for about two years now, and it’s been absolutely excellent—easily one of the best CPUs for gaming. The performance is outstanding. Games run incredibly smooth, with high frame rates and great consistency, especially in CPU-heavy titles. The 3D V-Cache really makes a noticeable difference, giving it an edge in gaming compared to a lot of other processors. And it’s easy to install. What really stands out is the price-to-performance ratio. You’re getting top-tier gaming performance without needing to spend on the most expensive flagship CPUs. It hits that perfect balance between power and value. It’s also been very reliable and efficient. I haven’t had any issues over the past two years—no instability, no overheating problems when paired with a good cooler, and overall just a very solid experience. Pros: • One of the best CPUs for gaming • Excellent price-to-performance value • Smooth, consistent performance in demanding games • Reliable over long-term use (2+ years) • Efficient and easy to keep cool Cons: • Not the absolute best for heavy productivity compared to higher-core CPUs Overall, if your main focus is gaming and you want a CPU that delivers top-tier performance without overspending, this is an easy recommendation. It’s compatible with all am5 motherboard

Best Gaming CPU
So far this thing is a beast. Idles at 41c stock, which is a shock because I am using an air cooler(Phantom Spirit). I was scared this cpu was going to run warmer but so far high 50s to mid 60s during gaming and i think i maxed out at 88c briefly under load in cinebench r23(22520 score) which is normal with stock settings. Runs about 4 degrees hotter than my previous 7600x(37c) but the spikes are a lot lower if any with the 9800x3d therefore keeping the system fans quieter and technically running cooler all around. I just recently installed it and very happy so far with the performance and silent fans.

AMD a frappé fort !

Powerful CPU for Gaming and Everyday Performance
I’ve been using the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D for about a month now, and it has exceeded my expectations. I paired it with 32GB of RAM, an RTX 5070 Ti, and a 1000W PSU for my new gaming build, and so far everything has run flawlessly. Gaming Performance: This CPU delivers excellent results in modern titles. I’ve been playing Expedition 33, Wuchang, World of Warcraft, and Gears of War in 4K. While I can’t max out every single setting, the visuals are still impressive, smooth, and very enjoyable. The system stays cool under load, which gives me confidence in its long-term stability. Beyond Gaming: Outside of gaming, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D handles productivity tasks and multitasking with ease. It’s responsive and fast whether I’m running applications, browsing, or doing heavier work. Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a CPU that balances gaming power with strong all-around performance, this is an excellent choice. The overall experience is smooth, stable, and reliable. Highly recommended for anyone building a capable gaming or productivity PC.
