Review: Beautiful Edition & Lovely Story 💚 - This hardcover edition is beautiful and high quality with golden edges on thick pages. I’m reading it with one of my private tutoring students, and she absolutely loves it! Anne’s character is incredibly imaginative and unique, and it sends the message that being different is a good thing and, through Anne’s many blunders, that you don’t have to be perfect to be admirable and beloved. The one heads up I have for modern readers is that the teacher, Mr. Phillips has a flirtatious relationship with a 16-year old student, Prissy Andrews, and while today’s readers would find it scandalous, teachers at that time were often incredibly young. They could graduate from Queen’s Academy at the age of 17 and immediately start teaching. Based on Mr. Phillip’s lack of skill, it is implied that he’s new to teaching, which further implies that he’s 17 or 18 years old. While it’s still not appropriate for a teacher to be flirtatious with a student, the age gap is more like a senior in high school flirting with a sophomore. If that bothers you, this may not be the book for you, but if you can make peace with it as a sign of different times, all the lovely things about this book outweigh that one, not very prominent element of the book. PS: Ignore the smudge on the spine! It’s been well-loved 💗 Review: Lovely book and wonderful story. A MUST BUYS - Gorgeous book. The cover is lovely and I had no idea the edges were SPARKLY GOLD?! 🤩😍 I’m in love! I got this edition for a Mother’s Day present to my mom and she absolutely loves it. This is such a wonderful story and I wish they made these lovely copies for the whole series. HIGHLY recommend getting this book, even if you’ve already read it (just for decoration because it’s so pretty 🤭)

Lovely book!
Its so beautiful and the design on the cover is textured (or indented I guess). I got it because I want to read this series, but mainly because I adore the Masterpiece Library Edition book designs!

A MUST BUY!
A must buy for masterpiece collectors! After watching the series, I couldn’t help but seek a physical copy for my library and I am over the moon that I found this edition. Its embossed hardcover is exceptional with the gold page edges. I’m tempted to buy another copy just for the sake of it - it’s simply stunning!

Perfect gift for an Anne of Green Gables fan
This book is an absolute pleasure to touch. I picked it up as a Christmas gift for a friend who adores Anne of Green Gables and had to retire her paperback copy. The feel of the paper alone is enough to make a bibliophile smile. There are lots of lovely details that cater to the reading pleasures. The edges are gilt, the end papers are a nice marbled look, and there is a gold ribbon to mark your place. As for the literature itself. There is a reason this novel is a classic. Anne has such a joyful and optimistic view on life but is still ready to break a slate on the head of a boy being an ass.
