As a MacBook user, I bought the Portronics Mport 8 on March 1, 2025, out of pure necessity. After 7 months, I can confidently say it's not just an accessory—it's the missing half of the modern laptop experience. The core problem with my MacBook was simultaneous connectivity. I constantly struggled to share a screen, transfer photos, and plug in a USB drive all at once. This 8-in-1 hub has solved every single headache. Real-World Stress Test (See My Photos! 🖼️) My review is based on testing the hub under heavy, simultaneous load, which is where cheap hubs fail. The photos I've uploaded demonstrate this perfectly: 1️⃣ HDMI to LED TV: As you can see in my photo, the 4K 30Hz HDMI port is connected to my LED TV, providing flawless, flicker-free screen. The Mport 8 handles the display signal perfectly while managing all other peripherals. ✅ 2️⃣ Camera Adapter & USB Drive: I have both my MicroSD card (in an OTG adapter) and a standard Pendrive plugged in and transferring files. The hub didn't flinch. Data speeds were fast and consistent across both devices—no conflicts or dropouts. ✅ 3️⃣ Power/Peripherals: Even with the display running and files copying, the hub maintained stability. This means I can also connect my wired keyboard/mouse and the 100 Mbps Ethernet cable (for stable Zoom calls) without compromising performance. ✅ The Value Created: What Hardship It Eliminates If you own a modern laptop, you know the pain: ❌ Hardship: Needing to find a separate adapter every time you want to connect a USB drive or transfer camera photos. ✅ Solution: The Mport 8 provides permanent, always-ready ports for everything, eliminating the "dongle dance." ❌ Hardship: Connecting to a large TV via HDMI and having your laptop immediately start draining battery because you have no power port left. ✅ Solution: It handles the high-demand HDMI connection flawlessly while keeping multiple data devices active—all through a single, stable connection to the laptop. 💯 7-Month Durability Check: The aluminum build quality is excellent. It’s light enough for daily transport in my laptop bag, yet it remains cool even when running the HDMI and multiple data transfers. It feels premium and has held up perfectly after nearly three-quarters of a year of continuous use. Final Verdict: Don't settle for the "dongle life" struggle. The Portronics Mport 8 is a highly durable, high-utility tool that delivers on its promises. Reviewed in India on 20 July 2025 I bought this USB-C hub primarily to use Samsung DeX with my phone on an external monitor, and for that purpose, it works brilliantly. I'm writing this review to share both the good and the seriously concerning aspects of my experience. The Good: First off, the functionality is excellent. It was completely plug-and-play with my Samsung phone. The HDMI output provides a stable and clear picture for DeX, the USB ports work perfectly for my keyboard and mouse, and data transfer speeds are as expected. All the ports are functional and I haven't faced any connectivity issues. For its core job, it's a solid product. The Bad and Concerning: Now for the major issue. I have received a noticeable electric shock on several occasions when my hand accidentally touched the metal casing, specifically around the Ethernet port. I've tested this, and it only seems to happen when the hub is connected to my wall charger through the Power Delivery (PD) charging port. When it's just connected to the phone, there's no issue. The shock isn't severely painful, but it's a very distinct and uncomfortable static jolt that should absolutely not be happening. This points to a serious problem with the hub's electrical grounding or shielding when handling higher power from the PD input. Conclusion: Functionally, this hub gets five stars. It does everything it claims to do. However, I have to give it four stars overall due to the electrical shock issue. It's a significant safety concern, not just for me, but potentially for the expensive devices connected to it. I'm now hesitant to use it with PD charging, which unfortunately limits its usefulness as an all-in-one desktop solution. If you plan to use this without PD charging, it's great. But if you need to charge your device through the hub, I would advise you to be extremely cautious or consider another brand.

I am writing this review after two months of purchasing this USB Hub. All the ports are working fine. It's of good quality. It's exactly same as shown in the photo. If you are looking for a USB hub for your laptop or Desktop, go for it.

Value for Money Product for Sure !!!! Each and every ports working good .. cable and build quality was sturdy !!! Worth for your spend / Hdmi connection with Android tv is also working without any disconnection ... And main thing there is no earth supply prlm !!! just connect and very easy to use !!!

Overall product is good. Good connectivity and durability also good. RJ port sometimes fails. Very short cable length makes table Messy. Easy to use. Display is working fine.

Best hub and ports for support every single penny Is worth buying this product I am a big fan of portronics for this particular one

I have been using this fir last 2 days continuously, all the ports are working fine, did not check the SD cards & LAN though. The size is compact so easier to carry with enough separation between the ports. Build quality is good with metal casing, and sturdy USB C cable. USB 3 & 2 works as expected. It also supports the desktop mode on Pixel phones, though it takes multiple tries to connect. When all the ports are connected with PD charging (which I feel is a bit slower) , the hub gets hot but that should be expected. . Few important points to be noted: 1. USB C port supports USB 2.0 speed which is a bummer, so there is only 1 USB port that supports high speed data transfer 2. USB C-PD only supports charging, data transfer is NOT supported

All the ports detect my macbook instantly, and the data transfer is smooth with no connection drops. The build quality feels sturdy and compact, so it’s easy to carry around with my laptop. It doesn’t heat up even after long use, which is a big plus. Overall, a very reliable and useful product, definitely worth the price. Recommended!
