We then had a fecal test done which was all clear. 6 weeks down the line and £450 out of pocket we were faced with doing blood tests when I saw this advertised and decided to give it a go first. From the first sachet our dogs problem cleared up and 3 weeks later having given him a sachet a day he is back to his normal self. Vet has said to leave the blood tests for now and to continue giving this as it can be taken long term although we will reduce it to every other day in the near future. So definately worth trying this in conjunction with vet advice. Much cheaper than vet bills as well. I thought it worth coming back with an update to my original review. Our dog has been taking this now for 6 months. We have so far not had any further problems with diarrhea, blood in stools or colitis. It seems to be working very well for our dog. I have checked with two vets who have said it is fine to keep him on it long term. We are currently giving one sachet a day mixed with wet food. He either likes the taste or doesn't notice it is mixed in his food.
