?What’s the main difference between this and the Core Series version

Hello there Joe, Thanks for your interest in Sanabul! Generally speaking, the core series is of higher quality and offers more advanced features. The main differences are related to the design, weight, and construction of the material. Hope this helps!

Can these be used for scuba diving?

I would think so. I use them for surfing and they work well under my wetsuit. Never tried scuba so not sure if you wear the same type of wetsuits.
