These worked great when I needed them.Wires poking into the side of my check due to teeth moving so fast in the beginning.It was nice to not have to drive an hour away to have them just clip a wire!

The cutting edge is flush along the length in the tool which is a solid plus. My hard wire in a non-orthodontic application wasn't able to be cut by this tool. The ability to close this tool is impacted already by the construction where the riveted joint had enough friction that the tool has to be opened with both hands and closing - without a wire - already requires significant force. I thought applying enough force (until it hurt to squeeze) would let me cut my hard wire, but no. Either 1) I could not apply enough force, or 2) the limited cutting "edge" which is vertical on one side and at least the hope of a wedge on the other as viewed under the microscope - wasn't enough to get through the 16mil/0.4mm stainless steel wire. I was looking forward to a much better experience but cannot use the tool for my purpose.

Dental Ligature Cutter Plier- I purchased this tool to cut the extra wire on my sons' braces that was digging into his cheek. Found out on a Thur that my son's orthodontic wire was digging into his cheek and he couldn't be seen until Mon. He has some orthodontic wax, which helped a great deal, but he couldn't eat with the wax in. Wanting to relieve him of the inconvenience of using the wax and the pain, I found this tool and it cut the extra wire easily. I'm not sure which size his wire is, but it isn't really thick. Though it would've been helpful but not necessary to use the plier, having some sort of spring, like cuticle trimmers have would've made them much easier to use, but I was still able to do the job without it, just required more finger maneuvering.

My fiancé had an orthodontic appointment where they forgot to trim the new wire. The Orthodontist was closed over the weekend so I ordered these on Friday they shipped quickly and cut the wire with no problem and she was able to eat without pain.

Only had the product for less than eight months and already broken. Return window closed and unable to return it for my money back. Won’t be buying again.!!
