Wasn't sure what to expect, the reviews are great. I think the best thing i can say is: it should cost more money for what you get. First, its super sharp right out of the box. Second, its a solid build no play in the hinge or lock. Third the grip is different and has a more expensive look about it. It's smooth operation is that of a much more expensive knife. Im happy to carry this every day. It's thinner than most of my knives. At first, i thought this was a negative thing, but after carrying it for a while, I've grown to appreciate its light weight and durability. Hard to find both.

Wow! This is my favorite pocket knife I've ever owned! Not too thick so it feels good in the pocket, even with the deep pocket carry. The ceramic ball bearings make it so when you open the knife, it acts like an assisted opening. The materials are high quality and the overall size is perfect! Great steel and sharp blade. Plus it looks awesome. This was my first time purchasing this brand after a lot of research but it won't be my last time. They made a forever customer outta me.

I honestly feel like this should cost a lot more. The quality and build are prestige and it even LOOKS more amazing. The blade opens perfectly smooth along with a satisfying snap and it's perfectly centered and SHARP. The handle feels incredibly smooth with just the right amount of grip. The jimping is nice and GRIPPY, and the pocket clip slides on to your pocket like butter. All that and it still manages to be light in your hands and pocket. I would've easily paid a hundred bucks for this and have zero regrets. Just get it and you'll see how quickly it becomes one of your favorites.

I was looking for an upgrade from my beloved Rat I. I had my eye on several options and finally settled on the Placoid. A great knife, but here are my noteworthy negatives: 1) A bit slim in the handle. I want a fuller grip. 2) There is no recessed cutout in the handle to allow for easy access to release the liner lock, so you wind up digging your thumb between the scales to release the blade. Not a deal breaker, but definitely noticeable (and uncomfortable) after repeated use. And finally, 3) The blade is sharpened almost all the way to the handle, which does not allow for choking up on the blade, which I tend to do often. You can do it, but you will slice your finger from time to time. The knife is sharp. Ha...

An excellent pocket knife, perfect size blade for me since I have a little larger hand's. Very nice grip and scary sharp blade. Very smooth opening and closing. Blade style is very stylish. Well worth the price!!

This is my first large knife from Civivi. Wanted something for camping trips to prep food and tinder. What a well built beast this is. Super smooth opened with the flipper and thumb studs. Opens with a very authoritative “snap”. One of the sharpest knives out of the box I’ve owned. Just pops hairs off my arm with no effort. For such a big knife it’s surprisingly not that heavy. Has a nice balanced feel. The shredded G10 handles makes it look unique and offer a nice grip. The closing action is also smooth. With a little practice after pressing the liner lock the blade with those smooth bearings can close fully unassisted. A brute of a knife that doesn’t break the bank. Highly recommend for camping!!

You would think at the sub $60 price point Civivi must have cut corners right? Noppeee feels great in hand l, super sharp, glides open no matter what action I use (not too loose) and closes with ease. One hand operation, nice and light but still feels substantial. Definitely on the larger side as far as a pocket edc but that’s what I was looking for. Good buy, more than worth the money

Love this pocket knife. It's the perfect size. Fits well into my hand. Nice grip and it whips out fast. No negatives to this knife. It's solid and way underpiced for It's quality. Good looking piece of metal. I definitely recommend for work, safety and around the house.
