I prefer shampoo bars as they mean less plastic to clog up the planet, they are easier to store and take up less space in the shower. This bar is a nice size, chunky and should last a decent time, it is not easy to use too much as it is for bottles. It lathers nicely and cleans my hair well. It is certainly a ginger scent, although I find it a little too earthy, but as it is natural I can live with it. I’ve been looking for SLS-free shampoos for a while because I have very sensitive skin. I was looking forward to using this shampoo bar.The packaging looks lovely. It would be perfect for adding to a gift box/hamper.The smell is subtle but very fragrant.When I tried the shampoo, it initially lathered well, but when I rinsed and dried my hair, I noticed a lot of residue in my hair. It left my hair feeling heavy and greasy.I looked it up and saw that hard water can make shampoo bars ineffective because the minerals in the water react with the soap (sodium hydroxide) and make soap scum.The only way to prevent it is to use vinegar or baking soda to rinse out the scum after washing. Or use a water filter to soften the water.I sent the soap to a friend who lives in a soft water area and she absolutely loves it.So I would advise checking your (or the intended recipient’s) water hardness before purchasing.Saying that, it’s a lovely soap.

What you see in their photos is what you get. I have been using Faith in Nature's shampoo bar, it's similar, no parabens or SLS, etc, but when I saw this and the Ginger alongside all the other lovely list of ingredients I had to order it. I have newly permed hair (two weeks ago), which I can't wash too often, just turns to frizz, so I need a a good quality shampoo. This one has Olive, Caster, Coconut and Shea as it's main ingredients, ideal for my perm. I tried it, with no conditioner, to see how it faired and I have to say it felt 'squeaky' clean after washing - I rubbed the bar over my head, and on my hands, there was no visible lather, which doesn't bother me as my Faith in Nature soap is the same/no lather, this one seemed to wash out easily and quickly, my hair felt soft and bouncy, my hair does take a long time to air dry, but when it was finally dry, I felt like I should apply leave in conditioner as the perm had gone a bit frizzy, but I resisted. A few hours later, my hair felt like it needed another wash, it just didn't feel like all the soap had gone, it really was a weird feeling, like there was a slightly tacky residue, it seems to have added quite a bit of volume to my hair, which I liked, but I just don't like the feeling a few hours later, that it needs another wash... I expect different hair types will experience this product differently, for me, it doesn't seem to suit my permed coloured hair. A real shame as I love the concept. Price at the time of this review was £13.

He washes his hair every day so gets through a lot of shampoo but this bar will last much longer than a bottle of shampoo and takes up less space. There is no risk of bottles leaking either. This chunky bar will replace hundreds of millilitres of shampoo which means a considerable reduction in plastic waste.It’s very simply packaged in a cardboard box. The smell of ginger is pleasant and I didn’t find it overly strong but it is the only scent I was able to detect despite there being other essential oils included.

I like using shampoo bars because they are much better for the environment. I love the smell of ginger and this bar is definitely gingery. I have curly hair so am pleased that there are no parabens. It lathers easily and leaves hair squeaky clean. A lovely product.

smells good and overall the quality of the soap is good. If you like strong-scented shampoo bars - this might be for you. It smells natural, healthy and refreshing. Plus, it does a good job as a shampoo bar.

I do myself like the scent of ginger however I found this shampoo bar to be over heavy on the ginger. It smelt like a combination of heavy spice and imperial leather soap and was to be honest quite unpleasant. That being said it does work fine to clean hair, lathers and rinses well with no issues. It is also a very generous sized bar and should last ages however I don’t think I would continue to use it as the scent is not to my tastes.

This ginger shampoo bar is just gorgeous. It lathers well, rinses easily and leaves my hair beautifully soft. I love that this shampoo bar is made with natural ingredients, and it's great for the environment too since it comes in minimal waste packaging. It's perfect for anyone who wants to reduce their plastic use which is why I chose to change to a shampoo bar instead, I was fed up with all the plastic bottles.The smell is zingy and cosy. It really wakes me up in the morning. The ginger extract in the shampoo is also a great addition, as it helps to revitalise weak and dull hair. After using this shampoo twice, I've noticed my hair has more volume and feels much stronger.Overall, I highly recommend this deep cleansing shampoo bar. It's the perfect addition to anyone's hair care routine.
