This pedal is incredible. I also have the Lion, but if you had to have one, i would go with the Enigmatic. The tones are wonderful. It goes from glimmering cleans to heavy overdrive that make humbuckers sing. I run it into a LA2A comp and its very addictive. The cabs are great and provide good variety. I hear stories but the phone app... but works fine for me. It is much more vast then the Lion app. You could do fine with just the pedal but there's lots of cool things using it in the app. I have lots of modeling but this thing really has it.

These pedals are great, if you're not hung up on vintage tube amps... There are YouTube videos of professional guitarists that can't really tell the difference--and to be clear, this is as if you mic'd up a real amp, in an isolation booth in a recording studio, and you're either listening in the control room on monitor speakers, or headphone mix... So if it's good enough that it's a coin toss, whether pro guitarists can pick the real amp or the pedal when doing A/B comparisons, then us mere mortal hobbyists are fine with it. You get the sounds of expensive, vintage amps, without the hassle of vintage amps maintenance. Even The Edge, from U2 used them, since his real AC 30 amps were always under the stage anyway. So, if I had many millions of $, then sure, I'd have all the real toys... But as a hobbyist, these pedals are great. AND I didn't want to go with a multi effects processor, like Quad Vortex, because it can become paralysis of too many choices. So these pedals are only an amp simulator/emulator. They sound great on their own, or with other guitar pedals.

Really amazing piece of gear. It took me a while to commit but I’m glad I did. I recommend watching the setup videos by James Santiago on YouTube. Getting the setup right makes all the difference. Sound quality: It sounds great through a pair of tube amps. I used it with a pair of Fender Champion 600 5-watt amps and a pair of Trace Elliot Velocette 15-watt amps. I also used the UAFX Max and Golden Reverberator. Build quality: Well made pedal.
