I would test it on something else first. It fires to a really low temp so shouldn't hurt most metals, is my guess. (Now don't go ruin it and blame me!) **Q: can this be used directly on the rim of unglazed porcelain or white stoneware pieces?** A: If you use this on unglazed sections, it will take on the texture of the clay, every tiny particle. This makes it less reflective and kind of matte because it is does not go on thick enough to melt into a smooth form. **Q: How durable is this on a functional piece of pottery?** A: It find the luster to be very durable!
