Perkins Builder BrothersEssential Tool Belt Set with Suspenders, Ideal for Framers, Carpenters and Contractors, Medium Size, Black

I'm a homeowner and property maintenance person on two buildings. I have framed new walls, installed/moved windows, run residential electrical lines, drywalled, and I'm into woodworking. Just to give you an idea where I am coming from with my experience. Not a professional, but I am comfortable doing just about all work except for maybe plumbing. I have watched some of the YouTube videos.I'm going to start off by saying that I've only used tool belts without the shoulder straps. I have never been happy with them. I tried the modular ones, the old school leather ones, but they never seem to sit right. They always get in the way when you're trying to navigate tighter spaces and I can't tell you the number of times plastic buckles pop off when I bend over.My first impression with the belt was great. The packaging is simple and nice. The only thing I was expecting was more instructions on how to set it up. One of my biggest issues with it is that the straps are super hard to adjust. But that seems to be intentionally so that it does not move on you. Trade off I guess?You can tell that this belt was designed by someone who uses a tool belt daily. It's very obvious that a lot of thought went into it. The belt buckle is so nice and secure. It's not going to pop off. It feels like whenever I'm reaching for a tool it's always where I expect it to be. I've never had such a streamlined setup. It's super comfortable to use. The should straps use that cross pattern that I use on aprons which makes it sit really well and even on the shoulders. I really appreciate how the load gets distributed between your waists and shoulders. And when you need to move to positions that put more weight on shoulder or the waist, it's never uncomfortable. I also got to say that I have actually forgot Im wearing it, which I've never had a tool belt do. Other belts are always in the way and I'm trying to decide do I need to sacrifice the comfort to be able to carry things or can I get away without one. I dont have to think about that with this belt.The bag attachments are the most secure way I've ever seen modular belts done. It doesn't move around where it connects. I think the pockets it comes with are great. The only thing I think I'm missing out on is a place to hang a power drill. But I might also be using it wrong, I've only used it for between 20-40 hours.It's tough. You can tell the grosgrain ribbon is very durable and there aren't any cheap components that stand out to me. I bet I'll be using this belt for many years.Bottom line is that this belt is incredibly well thought out. It has everything you want, and nothing you don't want. It seems like it would be easy to expand if you wanted another pouch or something. Super comfy as far as having to lug around heavy tools. I never felt like it was in my way. But whenever I reach for tool subconsciously, it feels like it's always in the right place to easily access. When I grab something I'm always thinking "oh that was so easy". So easy to grab and throw on whenever you start the day or start a job. It holds tools well. Oh did I mention the phone pocket? One of favorite parts. It's so.easy to access and keep from getting too dirty. I think you could turn your phone light on or make a call and have it sit in there at the perfect height while.you are also using your hands. Straps and weight distribution are rock solid and that's coming from a backpacker. Overall for the price, excellent buy. So glad I made the leap and purchased.

This is a perfect tool rig for anyone that does more than one thing and doesn’t need to have every tool they own on them.You can tell instantly that the design is very intentional from someone with a lot of experience, which is both good and bad. There will be things everyone would have done differently on this belt, but i don’t see anything that I can’t get used to.The actual material that the pouches and belt are made of are solid but not as heavy as others. The real star of the show is the hardware. It does not look or feel like it will fail. I’m sure this is a rig that will last years because of the hardware.I don’t know if this would be great on your shoulders for all day wear, as the shoulders do have as much padding as other tool belts I’ve tried, but they are more than comfortable. Sizing the suspenders were a bit of a task and a less than intuitive, but once I got it there, I’m happy with the feel.

This is my first real tool belt and suspenders and I won't go back to a standard tool belt again. I can see small DIY jobs not needing all of the features but I'd rather have more storage and functional features than not enough when I need them. For the price, I think this is probably the best bang for your buck out there. As a plus I have been watching the Perkins Brothers for years and have learned a ton from their content, as well as enjoyed watching them - great to see them expanding into different markets!I am not a pro but a weekend warrior, and experienced DIYer and this being my first real tool belt. Since it's marketed and priced more towards this group (IMO), instructions on how to set it up and more so adjust the belt should have been provided. I figured it out and adjusted it within 30 min or so, but having even a small card or QR code with video with tips and tricks would have been helpful. Even something like, "too tight here?" or "leaning forward or backward", adjust x,y,z for a better fit.A couple critiques:1. This should have came with a dedicated drill clip, since most all drill have a belt clip attachment now. It could be modular and moved from the belt itself or a pouch as needed and for me would be used all the time. I don't love hanging on the webbing.2. The D ring webbing for a pencil pull on the right shoulder strap hits my collar bone when moving around and has actually bruised me there and rubbed the area raw at times when I'm up and down often. If I wear a hoodie, no problem, but t-shirt is not enjoyable. I will use a seam ripper to remove part of the webbing there but keep the feature intact because it's super functional.2. I am right handed and realized that the pouches that hold fasteners are all on the right. This makes it difficult, or impossible really, to keep the drill/nail gun in my dominant hand while reaching for more screws or nails. But since I am right hand dominant, my tape being on my right makes sense, as does the speed square on my life. So if these pouches could be moved to the left or even a 1 or 2 of them added to the outside of the left pouch that would be a game changer. I could see a modular system that used the wrapped webbing and velcro (like the tool belt itself) being super helpful to customize the belt, being able to move these fastener type pouches around. Of course this will add cost and weight, so maybe not ideal. But for most people being right hand dominant, I'm curious why these pouches are on the right. (edit: just realized that I may be able to move the hammer pouch to the other side and swap pouches to opposite sides. I may try that...but I know there will be drawbacks to that too).Overall, a knockout for the price and looking forward to a V2 someday! Keep it up Builder Brothers!

This tool belt is nice. The suspenders and the quick release belt are the best part. It is very comfortable and rather reasonable compared to my occidentals. The pouches themselves could be better. But overall a pretty nice tool belt set up
