Heavy hold, top quality product; bit challenging to wash out
This product has a great hold; heavy hold is definitely accurate (depending on how much you use). As Joe says in his videos, it is a bit stiff at first upon applying, but run your fingers through your hair during the day and tussle it about, and it relaxes a bit. I have thick, wavy, coarse hair and so working this through my hair even when damp, it has a bit of a grip. Not a bad thing, just be prepared for it if you reach for a comb. I take all of this to be a positive though, particularly because it helps tame my unruly waves. There's only one real downside to the product I've found: it is hard to wash out. It's not water soluble and isn't really shampoo soluble (I've used regular shampoo and clarifying shampoos, but they didn't really do much). Though I managed to find a way to get it out completely: -wash hair a couple of times, I use tresemme salon silk shampoo, then put in conditioner... Again I use salon silk(how much you use depends on how thick and long your hair is); leave it for about 5 minutes. Rinse, and repeat with conditioner again, leaving it for about 5-10 minutes. I know this is all time consuming, but the oil in the conditioner helps remove the wax and petroleum build up. If nothing else, give the clay a go and see if it works for you.

Love this stuff it’s amazing
I feel like I’ve been searching for years for a good texturising hair styling product. I’ve been trying powder based products recently, but have been growing increasingly frustrated with the sticky powder going everywhere. I saw this product being used in a YouTube video, it wasn’t a advertisement for the product, but the product was used to create the style I liked so I decided to just buy it and see what happened. Probably one of the best blind buys I’ve ever made! Admittedly I was surprised to find it on Amazon, I assumed it might only be available in the US or otherwise difficult to buy as I’d never heard of the brand before, but it was nice to be able to buy it through Amazon and have it delivered the next day on prime no less! The product itself is great, finally I’ve found something that gives my hair texture and hold with a natural Matt finish. My hair is awkward to control and other products I’ve tried usually give up after a few hours but this lasts really well. Yes it’s a bit hard to get out at first but softens quickly when rubbed in your hands and you only need a small amount. I’d imagine 1 pot will last a couple of months, I actually ordered another to have to hand in cause I run out since there is no subscribe and save option. I disagree with the reviews saying it’s hard to wash out, I find it washes out within seconds under warm water certainly without much effort at all.

Overall very pleased!
You never know how overly generous the professional review is when done by the product creator, Mr Bluuman himself, so thought I’d give this a try myself, and leave a too long review. Overall very happy! I have short/medium length, fine, straight and quickly oily hair. I style it all upwards quiff style, in the past I’ve used gel, fibre-paste and fibre-putty. This clay is by far the best for hold, volume, texture, definition and a matte effect to combat the oil. In the videos Joe uses a hairdryer plus prestyler first; nobody has time for that. I go straight in with small amounts of clay into clean, fully dry hair and the results are essentially the same. And with how little you need, this small tub will likely last me over a year, used twice a week. There are, however, downsides. Clay is probably the hardest product to get into your hair. Spread over hands it is very dry and tugs like an absolute b-word, you will be wincing heavily if you want to get it into the roots for volume and longlasting hold, and worse the longer your hair grows. If you put too much it will weigh down your hair, clump it up and make it look unwashed, so be careful! You can feel this stuff in your hair. Run your hand through it and it won’t glide through, it’ll tug, and come away with residue on your fingers which is hard to get off without soap. My biggest complaint however is actually the smell. It is not a light scent, you’ll be getting wafts of it for days, and your pillow will smell of it too. I’m not a fan, but I do have a very good sense of smell. The closest thing it reminds me of is butterscotch, though less sweet. The clay comes out after a couple vigorous shampoos, however I could still smell the scent after a week and three showers even though the product was long gone! HOW TO APPLY When used properly, heavy clays work wonders. When not, they feel like they belong in the bin, so I thought I’d leave a rough guide. Dig a SMALL amount out of the tub (jellybean-ish sized lump). Mush into palm. Rub hands hard and thoroughly to distribute evenly. It will look like none is on your hands but don’t go back for more! Brush lightly onto surface of hair, more onto top, less onto back and sides. Grit teeth and start forcing fingers to the roots to distribute. Generally work through hair until it’s defying gravity, looking crazy or you want to cry. Wash hands with soap. Style hair as desired, combing fingers through roots for volume. (Slightly damp fingers will make this less painful). If more hold is needed or you chose to do the sides and back separately, repeat with smaller amount of product. If you see clumps, rub at them till the hairs separate. Wash hands again with more soap. Congratulations, you survived! In the videos Joe mentions clays needing about 15mins to set in after styling. I’ve not really noticed this though I believe him, so leave it alone for a bit afterwards. Sometimes I style before bed and it’ll actually look better in the mornings, so you won’t need (or want) to reapply daily. Be careful to keep this stuff off your face though. It’s just clay, it isn’t harmful, but being so thick and heavy it’s definitely comodogenic, so you’ll want to change your pillow case at least weekly unless you shower daily, if you worry about spots. TL:DR: Very very good hold, volume, texture, definition, mattification(?) and long-lastingness. Best product type I’ve used, but not necessarily the best heavy clay out there. Hard/painful/tricky to use, doesn’t leave hair touchable and smooth, strong and unusual smell, leaves residue. (Like all heavy clays.)

Changed my mind!
Updated review as I went back and used again! The greasy of original review below I think was because my hair was too damp - I now dry fully or almost and it's ace - really good hold but doesn't feel like anything is in there so definitely my go to now when I don't need strong hold of clay. **** Original review **** Sure hair products vary depending on hair type, so reviewing based on my thick short textured hair. Smell - quite soap/jasmine like. Consistency - nice soft paste easy to apply and you don't need much Texture - yep it's there Hold - Not bad, not strong but ok Shine - there is definitely a slight shine on my dark hair, it's not matt for sure Feel - you can certainly rework it, but it feels too greasy to me and with the shine above, does look a bit greasy

Brilliant for my hair
I have long hair (fringe down to my jaw) with short back and sides that I like to 'slick' back in a messy style with some misdirection and volume. This clay so far has been working ideally for that. I tend to add a little oil-based pomade for added shine and to reduce frizzy strands sticking out. But in terms of shape and style, this clay's doing the heavy lifting and it's been working great.

One of the best hair products I've used. It cleans off very easily and leaves almost no residue. It works especially well on think hair that has no volume as it is extremely lightweight. The only drawback is it isn't as strong as other options but it is a very balanced well designed product. Worth a try!

Material con muy buen olor, se resbala por las manos sin problemas y da buena fijación a mi cabello. Se nota que es de calidad premium comparado a otros productos.
