Retro 87-Key Wireless RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Xbox Edition

I had been eyeing this keyboard for a while, as I just adore this nostalgic xbox design so much, and I am so happy I have it now. The keyboard switches are so satisfying, and very clacky. The RGB is cool too, I just wish that the keyboard letters and numbers were solid white so that I could see them while gaming at night, as the RGB backlighting over shines all of the details on the keys. I do have astigmatism though.. so that could be why I cannot make out the letters/numbers at night very well. I have been using this keyboard for almost 3 months now, and it is still working perfectly. I feel that I will have this one for quite a while, as it feels very sturdy and made of quality materials. I use this for writing assignments and PC gaming, and it hasn’t let me down. if you’ve been on the fence over this one.. BUY IT! you’ll love it

I love the keyboard. The battery is good, the rgb is nice but not necessarily needed. The wireless connection is fast, and the provided dongle has done a great job thus far. My problem with the keyboard is with the switches it comes with. In the past I have used brown switches, and while the switches used in this keyboard by default are tactile switches, they are very loud and there must be something about the actuation force that I could not get used it. I swapped them out for gateron red switches and now I am fully satisfied with the keyboard. Like I said this is personal opinion. Maybe something to be aware of if you are picky like me. I love the aesthetic and I do get a kick out of the macro buttons. I was able to use the software to set up a surrender macro of League of Legends. It's not something I use all the time, but I do get a kick out of it when I get to use it.

A pretty incredible package! It looks gorgeous and so unique, sounds beautiful (loud though, wouldn't use anywhere but at home), and feels great with tactile clicky switches. I love the aesthetics; I mean you really don't see many keyboards on the market like this. This is a great deal too, a beautiful, well built, and lovingly designed keyboard, plus a matching macro pad, and a month of gamepass is truly stellar. Really the only slight criticism from me would be regarding the software. It's just not as-well designed compared to other keyboard softwares I've used and additionally lacks enough customization for me. I'd love to see more color modes in general. Plus, many of the basic modes such as 'color wave', 'ripple', and 'cycle' don't even allow you to select your own colors, which is most definitely simple to implement.

I love this keyboard. The old-school Xbox translucent green looks cool, and the switches sound great. It is not worth it if you don't like the Xbox theming, but for me, it was great.

The most epic keyboard I’ve ever owned . Love the back light mechanical keys and especially the transparent green color. Has usb Bluetooth dongle and battery hold charge for a good long time . Would buy again.

I’ll be the first to admit. I was HYPED when I say this for pre-order. But I waited to see what the reviews said before I bought it. I knew 8bitdo was a quality company from others but I’ve never owned a device from them. I also bought the halo edition Xbox ON RELEASE so I really wanted this thing to be good. The reviews were poor in the beginning. Most were about the software being trash and the rgb not working or being stuck on the brightest setting which washed out the letters making them unreadable. I felt this couldn’t possibly be true and that there had to be something missing. So… going against the reviews I bought one. Here is my journey: Upon opening, this thing was built rock solid and sounds excellent although I had to get used to having a loud keyboard because I’ve had quiet keyboards for at least 20 years now. The box and cable were all high quality too. When I plugged it in, I had the issue where the rgb wouldn’t work when following the directions. I had to go to the website to find the software because it wasn’t really obvious. When I downloaded it, I still didn’t have rgb. I believe I then went into windows settings for rgb control and it said I had to have firmware v1.5 to run it but my firmware was at 1.3. I am writing the all from memory two weeks later so the exact version may or may not be correct. After hitting update firmware, I was told 1.3 was the latest available. So I decided to give it a nights rest. Next day, I opened the software and 1.5 was available to update and once I did, everything worked as advertised! The rgb settings are great and allow lots of customization. The analog volume button is ok. It will go down many times when winding clockwise. The signal switcher is great when cabled. The Bluetooth works fine although it will lose connection sometime to my pc, but this may be on my end because it’s had some notorious Bluetooth problem. I haven’t tested the 2.4ghz dongle but it’s been a reliable option over many years so I assume it works as expected. Hopefully this balances out the large number of negative reviews early on and helps others get a great keyboard.

Very cool keyboard. I love the addition of an actual volume knob and the arrow keys are xbox colored which is cool. Overall design is awesome especially if you have/had an xbox back in the day. Having the xbox button to open up steam/gamepass is nice even if a bit gimmicky. I really like how the cables included are a green braided style similar to an original xbox's controller cable. Cons: The only thing i feel its lacking is a number pad but lets be honest most people are buying this for gaming. I haven't had any issues with the rgb lighting but it isn't compatible with signal rgb or any of those kind of apps but the pre installed software works fine although limited. The interactive modes are very satisfying. The keys themselves are very nice and clicky but the lettering on them is not very clear and dark which makes it a little difficult to see unless the lighting is on a solid mode. All in all its a very nice keyboard and evokes thoughts of the og xbox for sure i have several 8bitdo products and haven't had issues with any of them. Also be mindful that 8bitdo is NOT shipping anything to the US as of right now amazon is the only place to get them

Responsiveness is quick, Sounds of the keyboard are amazing (but a little loud if that’s something you worry about), buttons and switches to switch volume and connection type for the keyboard are nice. Overall a good keyboard, I enjoy using it and the experience.

Dopo tanti anni di sofferenza con una G213, ho finalmente deciso di cambiare tastiera. La scelta non è stata difficile. Sono poche le tastiere con un estetica incredibile come questa. Qualitativamente eccellente, esteticamente stupenda. Unica pecca, il software un po' da rivedere ma, tolto quello, 10/10.

This keyboard matches the equivalent mouse perfectly, and looks great on the desk. The keys are nicely spaced and the gradient is super smooth as you move up the rows. Key presses are a great weight and mistyping is very rare unless its through lack of touch typing skill (which I lack in highly!) The switches are clicky but much quieter than your average blue, I have no issues with keypresses coming through over microphones in calls and find the typing to be very enjoyable and non-tiring. Gaming on this is also a treat, it feels super responsive and 'just so'. It's a shame they don't do this in ISO-UK layout but i found switching over to be totally instinctual and haven't lost any functionality (you can use Windows built in keyboard mapper if you need to mix the US layout with some added UK symbols, but I found leaving my PC in UK mode and just adjusting my muscle memory to work perfectly, but I don't use many backslashes) RGB is very customisable and shines through with a nice tint, although you can still tweak colours to get the exact one you're after. I haven't used the super buttons much but they do feel satisfying to press and no doubt would make great macro keys for stuff you use regularly. The XBOX button also works perfectly for bringing up the overlay and it's overall a great experience. Bluetooth works well with no noticeable latency and they 2.4ghz mode with receiver works perfectly, and it wakes up and connects almost instantly. It comes with a lovely matching clear green cable to connect wired or charge it, but you won't need it much as you get weeks of battery life with regular use, even with the rgb lights enabled. Highly recommended if you like the aesthetic and dont mind ANSI layout

This keyboard is awesome!!!! Nostalgic xbox vibes, pity the pads don't light up but thats hardly worth mentioning.
