The search is over: impressive sound and great value.
I ordered these on an impulse, when the Amazon price suddenly raeduced by 20%, but they were already on my shortlist of three hifi speaker upgrades. I'd researched them based on my needs, budget and what was most suited to the size of my room. The Elacs were the cheapest of my options and I'd planned to demo them all at a hifi shop. Having heard them, the search is over. These speakers provide everything I wanted from the upgrade. I'm hearing a wider sound stage (the music seems to come from behind and beyond the edges of the physical placement of the speakers) and there's good separation of all the instruments and voices. Lots of detail too. Even very dense recordings, such as of whole orchestras, retain a good level of clarity. The frequency range is very good, both the highest notes and a great bass response: solid, well defined and not mushy. I've been using a sub-woofer with the previous speakers but may not need it now. The biggest improvement is in the mid-range: crisper and smoother voices and drums. I also get that hard to define rhythmic quality which tells you all the bits of a recording are in synch and your speakers are getting everything to your ears at the right time. Something else that's hard to define is when speakers are easy, rather than tiring, to listen to. Sometimes you have to work to pick out different bits of a recording but the Elacs serve it all up together with no effort necessary. The previous version of these speakers got excellent reviews but the company still went ahead and created the current model, which is significantly different, even including the design and dimensions of the cabinet. The professional reviews of the 6.2s are excellent. One design feature that may be relevant to potential buyers with limited space is the position of the bass port on the front rather than the back of the cabinet. This allows more flexibility in placement: you can put the 6.2s closer to a rear wall than you generally would. There is a lot of nonsense talked about hifi equipment and we're all hoping to find the bargain which is every bit as good as the kit costing tens of thousands of pounds. The Elac B6.2s are not that, they couldn't be, just exceptionally well designed and put together speakers which are really enjoyable and easy to listen to, as well as amazing value for money.

ELAC B6.2 Debut 2.0 Bookshelf Speakers
The ELAC B6.2 Debut 2.0.Out of the box, these speakers have a very impressive build quality. They're so well built, sold and weighty.Once connected to my system, the sound was very impressive. This was a big supprise, as I already have the ELAC Debut Reference, and the ELAC unifi Reference. Both more than twice the price of these speakers. The ELAC B6.2 Debut 2.0have a balanced sound profile, clear mids, and crisp highs, with an impressive base response. These speakers excel in reproducing a wide range of genres. The addition of a front-firing port enhances the bass response, which is impressive. The B6.2s offer excellent value for audiophiles seeking high-quality sound at a very affordable price.I paid £249.99 before Christmas, a total must at that price. So impressed!

Superb speakers
I wanted some new speakers as an upgrade from my wharfedale 9.1's..... and to pair with my new Denon MD41 dab. The wharfedales sounded fine, but I had an inkling that better speakers might show a bit of an improvement. So after looking at a load of reviews, I thought I'd try these.... And what a revelation they are. Literally. They reveal more detail at all sound levels and, even before running them in fully, have proven to be a more significant upgrade than I had anticipated. I listen at mainly lower volume levels and where the wharfedales sounded a little 'muddy' , these are clearer. In conclusion, these speakers are brilliant and seem very good value to me.

Easily outperforms most rivals that cost 3 to 5 times the price
These speakers are phenomenal. They deliver a natural deep base, impressive detail retrieval, crystal clear transparency and a wide open presentation.I've previously owned and auditioned many speakers in the £2K - £3K bracket, and have rarely been this impressed by a set of speakers, let alone at this price.I'm a big believer that you should only purchase HiFi equipment which you can afford to replace. Since the days of spending silly sums of money on HiFi equipment, I've had a career change and earn less than I used to. I'm a lot happier but can no longer justify (to my wife) spending thousands of stereo equipment. So I never thought I'd be able to experience this level of quality again, it's almost unbelievable, these speakers don't feel like a compromise at all. You could easily spend 5 times the price and only gain a 5 -10% improvement, if that.I've previously owned some KEF LS50's, which were phenomenal in their own right and I really think these would give them a run for there money. I certainly don't feel like I'll need to upgrade again.I've only experienced this level of joy when owning a new piece of HiFi equipment a few times in my life. These speakers are so dam good, they make you want to go back and re-listen to your whole music collection. For reference; my set-up includes a Rotel power amp with a Chord Hugo TT.
