I bought two, the 5 shelf and the 4 shelf, they are sitting on thick carpet, on the landing and are full of books, ornaments, pictures, they are solid! If my children where younger I would have attached them with the given bits but I don't need to. They come with two different types of tools to attach. Hope this helps.
