While I haven't yet had a chance to read the book cover to cover yet, I have taken a good look at the general contents. I was really impressed at how much they covered! A lot of beginner books gloss over important health care information, like common diseases, and this one covers quite a few. Additionally, they have information on raising goats not just as pets, but as production animals for your farm, which is also rare to see. They also cover all the basics of care clearly and thoroughly.Honestly, I'm impressed at the scope and depth of detail they managed to include for the size of the book! I'd recommend this for beginners and also just to have as a reference even for those with a bit more experience.

I have a hobby farm with a small herd of Nigerian Dwarves. This book sets a really good foundation for anyone new to keeping goats. It’s pretty comprehensive and easy to read. I think the chapter on diseases and management, along with the information about vaccines, would be especially useful. I plan on keeping this book with my emergency pet information so that family who watch my goats while I’m out of town will have easy access to it.
