Works better than my $4k printer/scanner. It’s fast and reliable. Works great as a mobile scanner for my vehicle.

Pricey unit but scans very well, install was easy and has not jammed to date. The double sided scanning was a nice bonus to discover.

I decided to go with a Brother scanner without doing a ton of research into other scanners because I've had such a good experience with their printers. This worked out great, too. All I had to do was plug it in, I downloaded the newest drivers from the Brother website, installed them, and followed the instructions on screen. At our office we each have a Brother B&W printer that has a scanning function in it, and it works for all of our personal scanning needs. But we have a ton of old paper documents that need scanning and sorting which is why we bought this for much larger jobs. I haven't tried scanning only via WiFi because of that, but the USB connection works fantastic. I've done very high resolution scans with about a hundred pages, and it saved to the PC within a few seconds. We all run laptops and laptop docks in the office so we just leave the USB cable out and if you need it, you pull your laptop over, plug it in, scan, and go back to your desk.

My early review after < 1 week of testing on the ADS4900W with WiFi and scanning via Windows 10 client supplied by Brother. I am guessing that Raven scanners are either weakly supported or the firm may be having difficulties. It was a great scanner for 4 years of moderate usage (scanning several hundred pages a day when used), but now it's throwing an error and Raven Support is nonresponsive. The Brother scanner is smaller, but faster. Smaller physically means it's more portable and lighter, but it's the paper that controls the size more than anything else, so it's not that important. The speed is great, though I think it's a bit slower than the Raven considering the latency when pushing the scan to a cloud service. The ADS4900 is a little more finicky with slick paper, such as the cover stock for The Atlantic Monthly. Sometimes it works, but for one cover, I tried many times to scan it and always got a misfeed/jam. The Brother has a pretty useless output stack when scanning > 20pp. I just let the mess go to the floor. Oh well. For my scanning methods, the Raven allowed me to change the file name on the machine itself, whereas this feature goes to the client app on the PC. (There are other ways to do this.) The Raven has a larger screen and it's easier to type on. When changing the password from the default on the ADS4900, I had to try it four times to get it right. The Brother design team seems to have thought through mobile use cases, though I haven't tried them yet. My biggest complaint is the size of document. I can't scan the NYT Magazine pages, nor the NYT Book Review pages.

I have a small trucking side gig that I run out of my home. Every week I have to scan in scale tickets to go along with the invoice. The tickets are 8-1/2 x 6 and typically I will have over 100 a week. It got to where I absolutely wasn't going to spend an hour or more scanning one at a time on my flatbed scanner. After purchasing the ADS-4900W model and using it I would pay double the $800 I got it for from Amazon. This thing is amazing. The scale tickets are black and white and usually have a colored stamp on them. I just scanned 115 in less than a minute. The scan quality is excellent. I have had this for about 3 months now and love it. It was super easy to set up. Followed the directions and in about 15 minutes I was scanning. If it tears up tomorrow I will purchase again.
