Works great for capturing to PC
I picked one of these up hoping that I'd be able to connect my Meta Quest headset to it and watch external content. I tried several things, but for some reason I couldn't get the Quest to accept the video stream. To make sure this device was working right, I followed the instructions to connect it to my computer and stream it into OBS. It took me a little while to realize that one must use custom setting in OBS and that one needs to scroll down a bit to find certain settings but once I did it worked like a champ! Note: I also used the cables supplied with this device so my computer was connected with standard USB to USB.Regarding the Meta Quest, I'm guessing the problem could have something to do with my cables. I own a fairly extensive variety of cables but none of my USB to USB C worked for either my Quest or my computer. I'm not going to purchase and try a large variety of cables to verify this because there are capture cards that are known to work with the Quest, they have PD support (a big plus), and they don't cost a lot more than a good cable. Que Sera Sera!I gave this five stars because it does what it's advertised to do and appears to do that quite well.My biggest knock is, a lot of computers now support USB C and I wasn't able to get this to work with USB C... Hopefully someone else will take the time to determine if that's a cable issue or a device issue.

Even records streaming devices, no software.
I got it to see if I can record shows with it and yes it does, but it doesn’t come with a recording software. The MFR recommends open source OSB: I’ve had too many compatibility issues with this software. That being said I did get it to work. The device is compact and feels well built. There is a lot of wires to run it: HDMI IN and OUT, USB C f/ power, USB 3 for computer, audio out and mic (for gaming or narration). Still at this price for 4K resolution recording, it’s a good value.

So Far, So VERY Good
I was looking to replace my older capture device, and this one happened along at the right time... And it's been surprisingly good! While it's easy to blow a grip of hard-earned cash on a capture card, and even easier to be taken by ones that don't work at all, the quality here was far better than expected!I'm using this with an iMac, and OBS as a part of a multi-camera set-up for producing tutorials, so set-up was a simple as plug and play. Video quality was good at 1080p, and sound quality took no hit whatsoever. Just a solid addition to the set-up with no drama. I had my own cables, so I cannot comment on what's included in that regard.Construction feels robust, with a metal housing, and the connections feel secure, not overly tight or loose.A great little budget capture card!

Definitely works for my needs
If you are looking to capture video and audio from a computer this should work for you. It has all the cables you should need to connect as well as video pass thru so you can monitor the feed going in. I used mine to use as a video monitor when shooting ProRes video on my iPhone 16 Pro Max so that way others could see what was being filmed. I don’t have a standalone DVD player but it would be nice to know if it would work or if the digital rights management tool on the players would shut it down. I have some old movies that I can’t get anywhere anymore that I would want to put on my laptop.I like the lightweight feel of this and don’t mind all the cables going in and coming out.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do!
I like this, bought as a replacement for my current capture card and noticed a slight increase in quality of the stream from my switch to computer. It's no gimmicks, no setup required. Just plug it in and it works. Fire up OBS or whatever capture program you're using and you'll be good to go! No complaints, only compliments on this.

Decent Performance, But Dated Format
This capture card delivers solid video quality and smooth performance for live streaming and recording, with easy setup and clear audio support. However, the reliance on a micro HDMI port feels outdated and adds unnecessary hassle, especially when more modern formats are standard now. It works well once you have the proper adapters, but it’s an extra step that detracts from the overall convenience. If you’re okay with the older port type, it’s a functional option, but it might not be the most future-proof choice.

Works well with OSB
Used it in my 2015 macbook with OSB studio. just hooked it up and added it as a video capture device and audio capture device and it worked.

OK this can be used for a few things
I wanted it so I could record videos of games I play and like to have a record of them. I can go back and see how dumb I was playing some games and how to do better. This is a screen capture device and uses an online OBS software that I have on my computer for years. I do use that to capture screens between two of my screens on one computer. But now I am sending it out to a tv and thought this may be a better way to capture my games on the TV screen. That is how I hooked it up and worked good, so it does that without any extra software or cables for me. I can see it in online meetings where you want to show others information they may need to use and even doing vlogs online. I did take away 1 star but not for unit it's self. It took me awhile to to get my program to work with the unit the way I had planned on using it. Now I know a little but I don't know all of this stuff, so I do things slow and read a lot to make sure I do it right and depends on what you are doing with it, you may have to spend some time with it or may not hit a glitch at all. It is not hard to hook up but you may need a cable or two, a mic, and maybe a headset. It took me more time than I had was all. I hope this helps.
