Yes this should work. It’s always best to test of course.

Does the acetone can have a mixing ball inside? I don’t hear it when I shake the can and strike it on my shoe to knock it loose.

Mine all have an agitator ball. However is can sometimes take a tremendous amount of shaking to get it loose. Keep trying!
