Will a#6 front sight work with this or only supressor height?

You can use any sight on ot, but you will have a very hard time zeroing it. I removed by front night sight and put in a supressor height sight and now they cowitness and it shoots straight.

Do i need a mounting plate to put this on a p320 m17 bravo or do i just need to remove the existing plate with rear sights?

I have a P320 VTAC. My Romeo 1 Pro mounted without any additional plate. I believe it will do the same with the new M17. You might Google search it to confirm but I believe it will fit with no additional mounting plates. If you were using Delta Point or another optic, it would require the appropriate plate to mount. Hope this helps.
