Review: Humane, comfy, good-looking. - I love these shoes. Listen, the world doesn't have to live in extremes. My feet need low-drop, but not barefoot-thin soles. I want my shoes to be lightweight, but not paper-thin. I want them to look ok with shorts or jeans, but not scream beast-mode. These are flippin' awesome. Very comfortable, decent cushioning and decent arch support. I weight 225lbs, I wore them through a summer vacation trip to Washington, SO MUCH walking, and these shoes were comfortable and supportive throughout. After that, they became running shoes, and they've served me for a dozen runs at 3-4 miles each, I have zero complaints. BTW, a few of those were on dirt and gravel, and these shoes performed admirably; good traction, and roots don't hurt. Fit is accurate, I wear 13 in Nike, Vans, Ecco, Bass, and these. Toe box is just a smidge roomy. The only critique I have (8 months into ownership) is that they take stains pretty fast. It's my own fault for wearing them to wash pots and pans... but just a few splatters of dishwashing water, and they're stained forever. Still, I would absolutely recommend these to a friend, and/or buy them again. Review: Feet savers - Shockingly comfortable and versatile. These have become everyday shoes for me. I LOVE the color and the fit. I find them to have great traction and resist water well. Genunly contemplating buying a second pair to squirrel away for when these give out.

Love that Wide Toe Box
I've been wearing Altra Lone Peaks for years because they are comfortable and generally durable. The wide toe box was a game changer for me - I love it. Zero drop is nice, although I did have a brief acclimation period. I've had good luck overall with durability. Some Lone Peak series have been worse than others, but I feel the 7s and 8s have been pretty good (not sure what they are up to now, 9? 10?) I do a good bit of hiking on some pretty unforgiving trails and Lone Peaks have in general held up well to some serious abuse.

Love Altra
These are great hiking shoes and I use them when landscaping around the yard. Helps minimize my Morton's neuroma numbness and pain since it has a large toe box. True to size fit. Nothing bad about the lone Peak 8 shoe model. The only thing that's bad about the company (Altra) is they run out of shoes fast (especially my size 14). I learned my lesson with the Escalante 4's (also a great shoe model) when I bought them to try them out and then loved them... but when I went back to purchase another pair the Escalante's they were all out of my size. So what did I do when I read the favorable views on the Lone Peak 8? I bought 2 pairs in my size without waiting to try them out. Once again, great comfort with that larger toe box for my aging 45 year feet. I only wish I had ordered a third pair to get me through the year before the lone peak 9's come out since I'm pretty rough with the wear and tear I put on my shoes (and body for that matter)... when I went back online to order them a couple months later, they were sold out in my size... again, lol! If you haven't looked at trying Altra, I'd give them a chance and make a run at them.... pun intended. They're great for folks on their feet all day like folks working in a hospitality/restaurant job, hospital, packaging/parcel job, etc.... and off course running, walking and hiking.

Great Shoe. Needs A Minute To Break-in.
These are great shoes - I'm on my fourth pair now. The wide toe box is nice and comfortable. My only complaints are the following: The uppers can be a bit stiff at first which makes them not so comfortable when you first start wearing them. However, once they get broken in they are extremely comfortable. The other issue which others have stated here is parts breaking down - this is also my case where the inside padding on the heals started to get worn out before the rest of the shoe. However, this problem for me isn't isolated to this shoe or brand and is quite common across a number of trail runner's I've owned over the past 30 or so years. If you're on the fence, wear them around town for a while to get them broken in before hitting the trails and I think you'll be happy.

Great shoes but…
Great zero drop, wide toe box shoes but I prefer the fit of the Lone Peak 5.

They work for me. On my 2nd pair.
Like any shoe, these can be a hit or miss depending on the shape of your foot. I suggest you try in a store first, if possible. For me, these are a 100% hit and I'm on my 2nd pair. I tried several Altra trail models and the LP8 felt the best. I also had not worn a zero-drop shoe prior to my first pair, and I really like them. The LP8 have just the right amount of cushion for me, and I don't feel there has been a lack of protection on technical trails, even with a loaded 55L backpack. I used to hike/backpack in a LaSportiva boot, but I'm a fan of using these for dry, 3-season conditions. I'm not a fan of the large stack height trail runners, so was more drawn to the LP. Hoka's and other brands just didn't work for my foot. I've primarily used these as my daily shoe (gym, walks, etc.) and for hiking/backpacking. I've done a couple backpacking trips with them in the Rockies this summer and while the soles have taken a beating, there are no tears in the shoe fabric. My only minor complaint is that the sole tread is soft and tends to wear pretty quickly if you're on pavement/technically rocky terrain a lot. Wear issues aside, I really enjoy this shoe as it works great for me. I'm 6' and 200 lbs. No blow outs in the fabric for me and the midsole has held up, even with heavy use.

Are they made of paper?
Bought on recommendation from my podiatrist. First couple months with these were great. They fit me perfectly and don't seem to make my ingrown toenail issue any worse. I also love the very grippy tread and found the shoes very comfortable. Unfortunately, today I tripped and accidentally scraped my foot on a curb and the shoe just tore open like it was made of paper... I knew from reading other reviews that Altra's are not the most durable and had been babying them as a result. I'm super sad that these are unusable after only three months and I must go back to using my old ill-fitting shoes until I have money for more. I was hoping to get at least 6 months out of these. I absolutely cannot afford to buy new shoes for over $100 whenever a random non-serious accident strikes and completely shreds them, leave me with no choice but to walk barefoot.

Quase perfeito

Noszę rozmiar 41 a buty wzięłam w 42 i były dobre.

Also ca. 25 km eingelaufen. Dann 3 Tage 75km Trekkingtour.
