I’ve used several smart relays, but the SwitchBot 1PM stands out for its compact size and the accuracy of its power monitoring. It was small enough to fit into my existing wall box behind the toggle switch without a struggle. The Standout Features: Power Monitoring: The real-time data and historical charts in the app are fantastic. I’m using it to monitor my washing machine, and I’ve set an automation to notify me when the power draw drops—meaning the cycle is done! Safety First: It feels very well-built and includes overload protection, which gives me peace of mind for higher-draw appliances. Ecosystem Integration: As with most SwitchBot gear, it paired instantly. If you have the Hub 2, getting this into Apple Home via Matter is a game-changer. It has turned a "dumb" appliance into a fully automated part of my home. Highly recommended for anyone comfortable with a bit of wiring!

Game changer these little units, got 4 different types now, just got one to start with had so many things I could do with it, so ordered more! got one running on a 12v battery, watering the plants while on holiday (purple one) for the price when on offer it's daft not to get one and experiment with it!

Great compact item. Can turn off my floodlights with an app now thanks to this. I love the compact size of this as i was able to squeeze it in a small ip rated outdoor junction box with other cables as well. I paired up my switchbot with IFTTT and a smart motion detection TAPO cctv camera to turn my floodlights to smart floodlights as they would go off all the time with a PIR sensor, so removed PIR sensor and together with my camera and IFTTT and switchbot they now only go off for car or person movements.

I've been on a mission to modernise my home and one of the things I was particularly interested in is smarthome integration. This listing is for a light switch relay that just goes into your light switch backbox, to be able to remotely control your lights. This specific one has a whole range of connectivity options - bluetooth and wifi are supported and even Matter if that is your preferred option. Hooking this up to your existing installation is easy, with you only needing a couple of extra wires for hooking into your actual switch. It is noteworthy that this relay requires a neutral wire, so make sure your light switch has one before purchase. You also should make sure you have enough space in your backbox to fit this in - while the relay is small, it is not the smallest available in the market and may provide a challenge when it comes to fitment. When it comes to functionality, I personally used it via matter on home assistant and it performed as you would expect. At the time of writing this relay is priced at £22, which is a little steep, considering you can get relays from more reputable companies for the same price or even less. Overall, I think this is a decent relay, however it has some limitations and pricing, while not terrible, is not the best either.

I was sceptical that this would work, but it does. has Support for two devices into Apple home through matter can now control my smart lock and my shades through this little smart switch happy days.

Easy to set up, works perfectly!

I requested this as I was replacing the lighting in my garage from two 6Ft double fluorescent fittings to two new LED battens and I wanted them to be smart controlled so I could turn the lights on before going in the garage. To install this you do need a neutral wire which I was lucky enough to have as the old lights that were installed were double switched and the neutral wire had been used as the live feed to the 2nd switch (tsk, tsk), so I just connected it to the neutral from the fitting that went back to the consumer unit. You can either use the existing switch with this or no switch, I went the no switch option as I only had a 20mm pattress box on the wall and with the switch this would not fit but it does fit with a blanking plate which I had so I went that route. I can always install a deeper box and a switch later should I want one. It was easy to install with just a couple of wire connections. You then have to download the app, this they could have made easier as there are QR codes on the instructions but they just link to a support page and not the app. Anyway I found the app and downloaded it, the app worked and it recognised the relay but for some reason would not connect to it and kept failing I tried several times over a period of a few hours and it would just not connect. I then decided to download the app onto my latest phone, (I keep an old phone just for control apps) and it connected straightaway, so I would say it was a problem with the old Android version on my old phone. The linking of the account to Alexa was straightforward so I can now control it that way. This does have a power monitoring feature which I do not use as 2 LED battens are not going to use a lot anyway and are only occasionally on throughout the day but I suppose it would come in handy if used for something other than lights. In conclusion, easy to install and works well.

I got it to work however instructions and YouTube vids are poor They are a bit slow to respond to commands Love the small size and there unique functionality for old light switches

I purchased this to connect to a contactor to shut off my water pump. I paired this with the battery powered switch bot water switches. It works excellent and the price is right. The support between other platforms opens many possibilities. I'll definitely be purchasing more of these.

I love using this product, It’s about half the cost of a Shelly 1pm which I would consider to be an equal product. I have actually had more issues with my Shelly devices over the long run than I have with any of my SwitchBot devices. With the price and reliability I’ll always pick this product.

Ich sag's mal so. Die Firmware ist nicht zu vergleichen mit nem Shelly, aber da sind so RX/TX/GND/EN/3v3 Lötstellen auf der PCB ;-) Es erfüllt trotzdem seien Zweck, aber da geht mehr ! ;-)

Works great, had no problems installing or using it. Can now switch on or off my external lights with an app or a schedule. Makes life that little bit easier!

The SwitchBot 1PM is a handy device for automating tasks like turning external lights on at sunset and off after a set time. It fits easily inside a standard junction box and works reliably for daily use. Setup is simple, though including a few jumper wires would make installation even smoother.
