Golf Pad TAGS GPGT1C-BLACK Golf GPS, Black

I got these after trying Arcoss and Sky caddie. I've only had 5 rounds so far, I may edit the review later. I found the setup, assigning tags to clubs, easy but I admit to being a bit worried when fitting the tags to the clubs, very tight. Thanks to the reviewer for suggesting a little soap on the thread,that worked a treat. I've had no problems so far when on the course, the live information is very useful, it seems to be within a yard or two of my friend's shotscope, good enough for me. Club recommendations will, I expect, improve as it gets more data as I play more rounds. The data itself is impressive, loads of information and a good visual display of your shots on a satellite image of each hole. Time will tell if I can use the info to improve my golf but I'm well impressed, especially at about half the price of the nearest competitors.

Easy to set up, easy to apply to clubs. Would recommend using small amount of washing up liquid when screwing into top of the clubs

Great product for tracking the distance of your shots and effectively acts as an automatic scorecard. Takes a bit of setting up to get it going quickly to remain at a good pace while playing but afterwards it saves you time and gives great insights! The app also works with smart watches!

OK until you want to take a half shot or duff one or thin one...Once I get used to it it should be quite cool. Just my last round was 64 by this... About 20 shots short.

The app that runs alongside these tags is fantastic, however, don't expect the tags to be as easy to use!! Pairing to clubs is easy enough , but that's the end of it, following the instruction video, the app was set up, then on course pinned as per , smartwatch app turned on , tags will not be recognised by watch nor by phone!! And following adding tags and set up , the app is now closing constantly so you have to unlock everytime you want yardage etc , would not recommend, and considering returning as 88 pound is a considerable amount to not work as they are sold , even the help section on app is unhelpful

This is the second set of tags I buy, for a spare set of clubs I keep in my home country (presently working as an expat). So obviously love these. And I have been using the Golfpad app for quite some years now.It takes some discipline to use the tags and not forget any shots, but I built that into my shot routine. Activating the tags on the phone might seem a bit erratic at first, but once you get the hang of it it works quite well.For those who have problems fitting the tags without ruining the threads (I've been there also) one tip. put a bit of soap on the thread before you screw them in. Works perfectly also for the first generation tags.

Extremely easy to set up. Great to see the distances after my round. Sometimes tricky to detect the club through my pocket but using my phone direct worked every time. One Tag stopped working but customer services sent a replacement straight away after contacting them. Great service.

Used these in earnest for the first time and was very impressed. Galaxy Note 3 with flip cover, in my pocket, linked to Pebble watch. Simple tap with the top of the club as part of normal set up routine, stroke position and club choice recorded. Battery use slightly greater than without NFC on but not much. Good seeing your round mapped with each club and range of statistics are good. Works perfect with Pebble and relatively simple to correct any errors which, in my case, was forgetting to tap before a shot (twice). As stated, too expensive for what they are in terms of material cost but may be worth it if viewed as a service that provides valuable feedback on your game. You pays your money and makes your choice...no regrets!

I love my Golf Pad app and tags. It’s like having a caddy on each round! I’m getting valuable information like shot distance, shot dispersion (i.e., where are my misses?), fairways hit, greens in regulation, total putts, etc. The set up was straight forward and both my husband and I recommend this product.

Was excited to get them as I have been using the app for almost a year now and thought that not having to manually input each club used would be great and reduce downtime on the course.Couldn't be more wrong, it was an arduous affair trying to get the phone to read the tags. Have to touch the phone and brush by it multiple times to get it to read the club's tag. After about 3 rounds I jut gave up and sent them back for a refund. I doubt the problem is with the phone, since it just needs to go close to my wallet to readily read my credit cards inside it. So I think its a problem with the readability of the tags.If they put out a new version in the future I will definitely try them out.
