Regalo Safety 29"-49" Extra Wide Baby Gate, Bottom of Stairs & Doorways

This baby gate was exactly what I was looking for. Installation was quick, and once it was in place, it felt secure and sturdy. I especially like that it's easy for adults to open with one hand while still providing a reliable barrier where it's needed. The extra-wide adjustable design made it a great fit for our doorway, and the pressure mount held everything firmly without damaging the walls. The latch works smoothly, and the gate swings open easily, making it convenient to walk through multiple times a day. Overall, this is a well-made, dependable gate that offers both safety and convenience. I would definitely recommend it to anyone needing a quality baby or pet gate for doorways or the bottom of the stairs.

Pretty good gate, fit perfectly, keeps my dogs from going upstairs, easy to use. There are videos on YouTube on this exact gate showing you how to put it together. I did not have to use a drill, and I was able to put it up without drilling holes in the wall.

Tyson wants you to have this be the review “This has to be, without a doubt, the biggest piece of s*** I have ever purchased on Amazon. The frame came bent, so the door doesn't close, which would matter if we could install it. We couldn't install it, because though the space was within the range specified be the company, it clearly doesn't mean all sizes in that range. The extensions were either too small or too large. Finally, the screws that hold the gate in place don't actually screw into anything on the gate (or at least our gate came without screw holes...). So, the screws could be easily moved and the gate pushed over by a small child. This gate is clearly unsafe and we returned it almost immediately!

Overall, I liked this gate enough that we bought two. What I like - - Easy installation. I am like 4% handy and was able to install pretty easily. - Able to be opened/closed/locked with one hand. Pretty important when you’re carting a baby around in the other hand. - My preschooler can open/close/lock it easily. This may not be a pro for some, but our goal is to keep our one-year-old safe while still giving our preschooler the freedom to move around as she pleases, so these fit the bill. What I dislike - - Sizing took some trial and error. My fault for not reviewing the specs in more detail, but it’s pretty misleading to be like, “this gate fits doors between X and XX inches, except for this one inch gap right in the middle of the range.” It’s not easy to take apart to return it, either, so make sure you’ve got the measurements right before you start to install. - I wish there was a pressure gauge to show you when you’ve got the tightness right, as exists on some other baby gates. Overall, I would recommend this gate and would buy again, now that I’m aware of the sizing trial and error.

I wanted to wait awhile before putting up a review. I put this gate up after others did not work. My toddler is strong and this is our 3rd gate. She has not been able to take this one down. It is an extremely solid build. It was fairly simple to put up. We are able to remove it when necessary. The size is perfect and both kids have not able to climb over it. I was suspicious of the lock on the gate and if it would work well enough, but was proven wrong when the toddler was unsuccessful at opening it after several tries, including destruction. We didn’t use the extender because the gate went in the doorway, but kept it in case we wanted to use it later when we get a dog. With the extender, it gives the ability to put the gate essentially anywhere in the house. Great purchase, no regrets!

The five stars I gave are strictly for this company’s customer service. The gate comes with a 4 inch and a 12 inch extension that you can add onto the 29 inch gate. So you need a very specific opening size for this to work, and it would not fit my particular opening despite being within their advertised size range. It took a couple days to get ahold of customer service, but when I did they immediately sent me out a 6 inch and an additional 4 inch so that I could accomplish a 14 inch extension onto the 29 inch gate. They didn’t charge me for it. They were super friendly on the phone, and once I actually got ahold of them it was a breeze. The gate on the other hand is not a safe way to contain pets or children. It looks nice, it looks a lot more put together than the little wooden pressure mounted gates you can get for cheaper, but my cats and my 20 lb puppy pop the door on this open like it’s not there. And then my dogs get into the living room and destroy things and the puppy pees everywhere while I sleep. Even latched properly the door opens with minimal pressure against it. The door will be wide open with the latch still fully latched on the door. So it makes sense that in the instructions it says this is for six month old babies. If you have a toddler, definitely don’t use this somewhere that they might be able to push it open. Or if you have a big dog that you absolutely need to keep separated from company this will not safely do so. It’s also extremely wobbly even with the cups screwed into the wall, but I think that’s because I have three small extensions on it, it wobbles at the extensions. If you just use the 29 inch main gate or possibly just one extension I imagine it would wobble less. But I’m going back to my $15 wooden pressure mounted gate.

You’re better off buying another brand. This gate sucks and does not expand to the size it says it does. The extension ends pop off constantly and the tension screw attachments are flimsy and fall out. I wish I would have spent the extra money on a higher quality item. What a waste of money!

Ordené esta reja para mi bebé y tenía mis reservas ya que leí malas reseñas pero me atrevo a decir que no hagan caso a las malas reseñas ya que cumplió con mis expectativas, llegó en perfecto estado empaquetada, la reja mide lo que dice en la descripción (49”) incluyendo extensiones y se ajustó perfecto a mi espacio de 48.5”/123cm, es de metal, fácil de instalar y queda muy rígida y estable, siempre y cuando LEAS Y SIGAS las instrucciones y la instalen correctamente; vi malas reseñas en cuanto a que es difícil de instalar o que la puerta no cerraba por quedar una abertura grande en la puertita pero literalmente viene con VARIOS letreros en la reja, caja e instrucciones que dicen que la abertura NO ES UN DEFECTO y se va cerrando conforme vayas ajustando la reja presionando con la pared, solo tienes que leer y seguir las instrucciones y será fácil instalarla y quedará segura. Además de la cerradura cuenta con un seguro extra para que no sea fácil que un niño la abra Contras: lo único malo es que la puerta es pequeña y no puedo pasar la carreola por ahí pero eso es porque yo paseo a mi bebé dentro de mi casa, además de que es para dejarse instalada en un solo lugar porque no es práctico estarla quitando y poniendo, pero aún así 10 de 10!!

Excellent product just what i needed

Hemos comprado esta barrera para colocarla en una zona bastante ancha de la casa y estamos muy contentos con el resultado. Una de las cosas que más nos ha gustado es que permite cubrir aperturas grandes, y las extensiones incluidas hacen que sea mucho más versátil que otras barreras de medidas más limitadas. El montaje a presión es sencillo y no requiere hacer agujeros en la pared, algo que resulta muy práctico si no quieres dejar marcas. Una vez bien ajustada, queda firme y estable, incluso con el uso diario. La puerta se abre y cierra fácilmente y el sistema de cierre transmite seguridad. También resulta cómoda para los adultos, ya que no es necesario estar desmontando la barrera cada vez que se necesita pasar. El acabado en blanco es sencillo y combina bien con la decoración de la casa. Además, puede utilizarse tanto para controlar el acceso de los niños pequeños como para evitar que las mascotas entren en determinadas zonas. Pros: * Cubre aperturas bastante amplias. * Incluye extensiones. * Montaje a presión, sin necesidad de taladrar. * Buena estabilidad una vez correctamente instalada. * Puerta cómoda para el uso diario. * Diseño sencillo y discreto. Contras: * Para conseguir una buena estabilidad es importante ajustar correctamente la presión durante el montaje. En definitiva, es una barrera muy práctica para quienes necesitan cerrar espacios amplios y quieren evitar hacer agujeros en las paredes. Después de utilizarla, estamos muy contentos con ella y la recomendamos por su facilidad de montaje, estabilidad y versatilidad.

Positives: Easy to set up, very clear instructions. Good quality for the price; the brand packaging inspires confidence. Negatives: The lower part of the swinging section of the gate does not align perfectly with the rest unless you apply the base lock. Applying the base lock undeniably improves safety but makes it less practical for everyday use—you have to bend to disengage the base lock each time. Designed to open only in one direction—whether that also improves safety is up to Regalo, but I would have preferred one that opens in both directions. Overall, for the price, which was nearly half of the other brands at the time I bought it, I would buy it again if I needed another one. I would still strongly consider it even if the prices were the same.

I have a odd measuring entranceway that needed to be blocked for the dog. It was just a couple centermetres too wide for the standard gate at the top (44 cm), and just fit at the bottom (41.5 cm). Although I bolstered the gap at the top, the puppy kept knocking it over and getting through. This gate is exactly what I needed! It allows for adjustments to be made to the appropriate width at the bottom, while allowing for the extra width at the top, so it fits perfectly and is sturdy to prevent it from being pushed over by puppy. It is also taller than standard gates and has an easy to open door. It was easy to assemble and I was able to install it within 10 minutes. Highly recommended.
