This is an excellent shampoo bar
It doesn't melt and fall apart in the water and using it has been neat and tidy. I opened one end of the soap and handle it in the plastic wrapper. This way I have avoided a mess. My experience is that it dries very nicely after use. I was looking for a fantastic standard shampoo and this meets my needs perfectly. It was my first time using a bar and it was good. I usually get a good lather on the second go. The product smells wonderful. I don't think it smells like tea tree or neem. It smells more like tropical fruit in my opinion. I also love that it is a family owned & operated business. Solid product.

I love this bar and its heavenly scent
I'm not gonna lie: I'm using this bar as normal bath soap rather than shampoo soap because it doesn't appear to contain nearly enough neem and tea tree oil to combat the demodex I'm trying to fight off. Having said that, I don't regret this purchase for a second. Because it contains neem and tea tree, I suspect it has at least some ability to ward off demodex migrations to the rest of my body where those little mites have a tougher time thriving. And this soap is so beautifully soft and moisturizing that it's become one of my favorite indulgences. It smells like sweet cherries. The fact that the scent Obia is using is phthalate-free means I can inhale this delicious flavor without feeling like I'm sending my hormones off-kilter.I love this soap. Yes, I know you're not generally supposed to use shampoo bar soap as bath soap, but my skin is so dried out from twice-a-day showers/baths in my fight against demodex, that using this very-moisturizing bar actually works fine. It probably wouldn't work for most people as a daily bath bar.But I had to give this bar the love it deserves. It's divine.

Not for me
Has a pleasant scene. It leaves a hard greasy stiff feeling on my hair after getting out of the shower. Almost as if I already put gel or grease all over my hair to style. It's probably not best for my hair type. I'm Asian American with short straight hair. Any regular commercial shampoo leaves me feeling clear with no residue making it all fluffy and light. But this shampoo definitely stuck on leaving a film and weight. After the second time, I said forget it and used a Suave shampoo to wash off this shampoo to get back to normal. I'll suggest like the rest on here that you might have better luck using this as a soap bar, but I don't prefer to be any residuals at all. I might use this last minute if I want to shower and have an already greased hair to start styling it. It was strong enough to hold a spike or mohawk right out of the shower.

doesn't strip
I cut it up into cubes so that I don't wet the entire bar. works like a charm -- my hair is clean but feels moisturized. this bar doesn't not feel clarifying (which is nice).

Some ingredient seems insoluble in water
I like the smell and lathering, but it seems like an after product stays on the hair and fingers..feels like a waxy texture. It was really hard to brush my hair after due to the left over waxy ingredient. Please save yourself the hassle of returning it, as I am planning to do. If you do end up buying it anyways, save the wrapper in order to return later.

It is great for those with Natural Hair type 4 who want ...
So this product is not really moisturizing so that may be a little misleading and that is why it is receiving 4 stars. However, it is clarifying. It is great for those with Natural Hair type 4 who want to remove build up from their hair. It has an amazing smell and it seems to be lasting a long time. I have braids right now so I'm not using it. I prefer to wash my box braids with something a little more moisturizing. When I'm not in braids I wash my 4C hair once a week either with Rhassoul, Bentonite Clay, or with this, so that lets you know how long its lasting and I've only purchased one so far. Then other times I will choose a moisturizing shampoo when I don't feel like Deep Conditioning but with this shampoo bar you have to make sure to deep condition, or at least use a simple rinse out conditioner to add back the moisture to your hair.
