Good umbrella, excellent customer service
This umbrella was a little pricey, but I wanted a nice one to bring back and forth with me to work. For six months I used it happily - it is a good compromise of small when folded and large when open. The flower petals on mine are so cute. On really windy days it did occasionally flip inside out, but I could flip it the right way again easily. My only complaint is that it is not really self-closing... the button closes the fabric part of the umbrella, but doesn't retract the umbrella (make it short again). If you push the button again while the post is extended, it will not open the umbrella. You have to push the umbrella closed before you can use the button to reopen it. That was a minor complaint of mine until my umbrella stopped being able to be pushed closed. I'm not sure what happened - I can't see anything, but perhaps the post has a slight flaw? In any case, I could not find a way to use the umbrella at all at that point as I don't believe it can be opened manually without using the button.I came to this page to write a review and give it 3 stars because of how it was unable to be used anymore, but when I looked at the product again, I was reminded that there is a warranty on the umbrella. I reached out to Tumella and explained my problem. After a brief back and forth about the issue, they responded that they are sending me a new umbrella! That customer service bumped the rating right back up to 5 stars.TL;DR: Love the umbrella, but had one small issue. Umbrella broke, company stood behind their warranty and replaced the umbrella. 5 stars.

Awesome umbrella
I’ve used many compact umbrellas before, but this Tumella umbrella honestly feels much more premium. It’s sturdy, lightweight, and handles wind much better than cheap umbrellas. The automatic open/close button works smoothly, and the design looks really beautiful too. What impressed me most was the customer service — very fast and helpful. Definitely one of the best travel umbrellas I’ve owned and worth the money.

Best umbrella I've used, easy open and close
Love this umbrella. It's pop of color underneath is genius for keeping your spirits up in bad weather. It is wind proof, it is water proof, no more wet dripping on the floor.

Nice umbrella but difficult to operate
Very nice umbrella. It was a present for my Mom who is 82 years old. She could not retract and push the umbrella shut to close it. She could not operate it. The umbrella folds down when you push the button to close it but then you have to push the umbrella back together to lock it. The canopy part of the umbrella opens and closes by pushing the same button. The canopy folds down and then you have to push it together by pushing on each end of the umbrella. It has a very tight spring that makes it more difficult to push the two ends together. I had a fairly difficult time closing it. It takes a fair amount of strength. If you are strong, then you may not have any difficulty operating the umbrella.

Flip-proof??? - great customer service
The Sakura flower design was very pretty and looked just like the picture. The umbrella is a little bit heavy and wide to be cosidered a travel umbrella, but I still brought it on my trip anyway. The last time I was caught in the rain, my previous flimsy umbrella stood no chance against the wind and kept flipping inside out and almost broke. I thought the extra weight/space it took up in my suitcase would be worth it on my extended trip if I didn't have to deal with that. The first day that it rained in Japan, it was also very windy and I was out for about two hours in it. It was wide enough to keep me completely dry and held up pretty well. A couple times I had to change the direction I was holding the umbrella so it wouldn't pop out and one time it actually did. Towards the end, I ended up holding the velcro piece that keeps it wrapped up to help stabilize it. Overall, that aspect wasn't as good as I'd expected with them claiming it to be flip-proof, but it was sturdier than the average umbrella. I went in and out of buildings opening and closing it and it did just fine until I got back to my hotel. When I was closing it for the last time, it collapsed down when I hit the button, but I couldn't push the handle in. I tried to reopen it, but the button wouldn't work. When I got back to my hotel room, I pushed it against the floor as hard as I could and it finally closed. I opened it back up and it got stuck again. On the third and fourth time, it seemed to be functioning properly again. I hope this doesn't happen when I'm out about the next time I use it. Also, the cover it comes with is a little tighter than other umbrellas I've used and takes about a minute for me to squeeze it on - not a deal breaker, but certainly annoying. Unfortunately, since I'm in the middle of a trip outside the US, I am unable to return it. I would look elsewhere for a better wind-proof umbrella.-After leaving the review, I was contacted by the company and completely refunded without having to return the umbrella and they even went ahead and sent me a replacement free of charge. I haven’t been able to test it in the rain yet, but it seems to be opening/closing better than the first one. If you are on the fence about purchasing, I would give it a chance because the customer service was so exceptional. I was pleasantly surprised.

Great Product Better Company
Only because I love this company. The umbrella is beautiful, compact, and easy to use. They sent me the wrong one, I was going to return it and when I did, they refunded my money and said keep it! I'm gonna buy another one just because they did that, and I want the design I originally picked lol

Works as Advertised
I had been searching for a wind proof umbrella. Ultimately I chose the Tumella. During two windy rainstorms, I watched other umbrellas turn inside out. This one definitely held up as intended. I also liked the inverted feature to avoid dripping water when it was being closed. At one point I contacted the company because I questioned the closing feature. I heard back from them in a timely manner. They were patient with me and effectively answered my concerns. The video shows me opening and closing the umbrella. I thought the button was pressed again to further bring it down. That’s why you can see me pushing the button multiple times. (I was mistaken and probably had another umbrella in my mind.)Seems like a great company, and I will most definitely order other umbrellas from them in the future!

Cumple con lo prometido
Aunque la tela se ve delgada, funciona correctamente. La estructura se ve fuerte y resistente. Ahora falta evaluar la durabilidad.

This umbrella almost ticks all the boxes
I found the button for the automatic opening and closing to be very useful when hands are full and it’s raining. Yes it does take a fair bit of strength to completely close the umbrella extension. However, the Opening and closing mechanism is extremely abrupt and quite loud to operate. I gave people close to me quite a start! The breeze did manage to flip this umbrella several times when I was using it for sunshade when walking and not in rain. I found this umbrella to be quite heavy too - especially for its size. Unfortunately, when carrying the closed Umbrella on my wrist as my hands were full of bags and parcels, I must have inadvertently dropped it or it slipped off my wrist… hopefully whomever finds it gets to enjoy my briefly owned umbrella. 🥹 at the price I paid, I’ll not buy another as I don’t thin out warrants the expense. Cheaper ones will do…

Producto bueno
El producto es bueno, solo que en ocasiones cuando abre, un parte lo hace al lado opuesto. Uno mismo lo tiene que acomodar
