Surprisingly delicious straight out of the can.
Usually canned salmon needs some help to taste good, but this is surprisingly flavorful right from the can. Pieces are ample and chunky... seems like whole fillets get folded into each can. I'll eat it that way, as Peruvian-style ceviche, or in Japanese fried rice. I even use the liquid; it's great for homemade miso soup.To the people complaining about 'black goo' or the can being 'full of bones': Read the can. PLEASE.It clearly says 'Bone and Skin Included'; BOTH ARE EDIBLE. The label even mentions that the bones are an excellent source of calcium. And the 'black goo' is salmon skin! Amazingly good on its own if you've ever had salmon skin sushi rolls (I wouldn't use the skin in this can for that, though. It's too soft). I'm guessing the salmon itself is pressure-cooked in the can, because the bones are very soft and crushable. They add some nice texture to the fish.So nice that nothing has to go to waste...

Great product.
All around a good eating experience with canned seafood. There was minimal waste, the flavor was excellent. I added some additional olive oil (after draining the water), some Mayo, and some black pepper. Along with some sliced California sourdough bread with red leaf lettuce, it provided the perfect lunch meal.

Salmon with skin and soft bones. Good for health
Canned salmon with skin and some of the bones. The bones are very soft. I like to smash the salmon with a fork to crush anything then put it on my sandwiches. Taste and texture are normal. I feel good getting the whole fish.

Just what you'd expect
This is canned salmon. It is not gourmet fillets. Canned salmon has skin and bones. That’s what you should expect. That’s what you get here. I have tried other brands (I feed them to my Tibetan cayman), and this is average. Average is not special, it’s average. That’s what you get here, though I should have docked it a star for being more expensive than the same product that can be purchased locally, but that’s the curse of Amazon Convenience.
