Solid crossbow, not fancy but get the job done for half the price.
Had this crossbow for 6 years, just restrung it and gave it to my daughter. Was looking to upgrade and honestly see no value in paying twice as much for no value. I have knocked down several deer at 40 yards with no issue. In fact I really think 35 to 40 yards is its sweet spot. I am going to upgrade the scope mostly because I can vs really need. The scope that comes with it is accurate. I am a cautious hunter and at 40 yards I would have no hesitation. Also strings are not crap. They are just fine. Wax them regularly and you can get many season out of them. I also like it that it uses standard bolts over the hyper bolts. My buddy has a hyper model and no issues with the non illuminated knocks but the illuminated have been a problem releasing the safety. If your looking for a working man’s crossbow this solid and cheap.

Incredible hunting crossbow for the full-sized hunter.
I've had mine for a month or so now and have even taken one whitetail (doe) with it in that time. Lets start off with the cons ---- 1.) I've got little issue cocking this, but I can easily see people smaller and/or shorter (I'm 6' 1" 265lbs) having some tremendous trouble with it. It does absolutely wear me out after several shots though. 2.) The side quiver attachment (lets it run parallel to the stock) will not work for you if you have big hands. Bolts are resting on my triggerhand and hit my off arm/shoulder while aiming if I flip sides with it when I have it in this configuration. 3.) All the decals on mine (ie the safety label) started to peel off after the first day of shooting it. Little super glue on em and the problem is solved. But still... Okay now for the pros ----- 1.) Trigger is one of my favorite factory triggers I've ever shot in many years of competitive shooting. No give whatsoever, but just a smooth crisp pull. 2.) For how fast its slinging bolts and boy does it sling em, its actually pretty quite. 3.) No too heavy to lug around, but still enough to get a stable offhand shot when needed. 4.) For a full sized crossbow its pretty compact when cocked 5.) I'm liking the illuminated 7 distance scope A LOT more than I originally though 6.) Thing is stupid accurate at least out to 40 yards offhand. Haven't benched it beyond that just yet. 7.) I wear a size 14 boot and the STR allows at least my 30-50 degree weather insulated booted fit through with no issue 8.) Front pic rail allows for an assortment of more tactical options To me personally, the cons aren't very big. I've got this bow paired with some Rage EXTREME 4 Blade broadheads (really shine with the speed of this bow). Did the trick on my first deer at 20 yards (even if it was a semi-bad shot at no fault of the crossbow itself).

Really powerful, very satisfied
Nice crossbow! Easy to assemble, although the directions are sketchy. I had to use a YouTube video to be sure I was doing it right. Extremely powerful and accurate. The scope is acceptable. My only criticism is the detachable quiver. It won't lock on tight, and it's oriented in a way that it will interfere with your hands no matter which side you mount it on. I bought an adaptor so that I can mount it out front at 90 degrees rather than inline with the bow stock. I recommend this bow. Already shot a couple deer, through and through.

Read before buying....
Purchased this as a replacement hunting bow. I did a ton of research on the bows in this price range narrowing down my choice. There are plenty of good reviews out there and I agree with all of them. I really like the bow. There is only one thing I would like to bring to the attention of potential buyers. Cocking this bow is more difficult than you would think. I have shortened the supplied cocking rope till the handles touch the hooks and still I cannot cock this bow on just a straight pull. I'm 6'4" and 270 pounds and still need to do a butterfly at the end to cock the bow. Now that may not seem like much but after 40 or so of them during an afternoon shooting and I promise you'll feel it. Also one of my hunting buddies is only 5'9" and this thing likes to kill him. The reason I bring this up is because any buyers of smaller stature will not doubt have to eventually look into a cocking device which would add another $140.00 plus to the overall price. This means you might want to compare this bow against those in the next effective price range instead of the one it's in. This is still a great bow and I'm not trying to talk anyone out of one. I'm just trying to give you as much information as possible to help you make your decision.

super nice
Works great. arrows included are lightweight to achieve advertised speed. Buy extras with same weight. very accurate. easy to use. assembly was a breeze. customer service from Barnett is A+. i lost a scope cap and they hooked me up. Very nice. As with all scope subtensions you will have to confirm your own setup.

Great Bow for a great price
I've had this x-bow for four years now and have hunted dozens of times and taken about 12 deer with it. EVERY single deer I have killed has been a pass thru shot. Shoots very flat and accurate out to 50+yds (I don't shoot at deer past 35yds). This is my second Barnett, previously I had the Predator x-bow for 12+ years, that was a great bow too. Barnett makes great bows, it's my favorite brand.

Easy assembly. Short lived
Got the crossbow and setup was very easy just as advertised. I went to a Range the same weekend I got the crossbow and started sighting it in. The scope was basically already zeroed in just minor adjustments and hit dead center on the second shot. I then shot 2 more times after that and the anker for the string broke right off the crossbow. For a product they advertise on their site being 600 I expected at least a season or two worth of shots out of it before anything broke but for just 4 shots this is 100% not worth it. I already sent it back hoping to get a full refund but who knows I may have just gotten a bad one. I plan to get a replacement and test it out one more time and I’ll update the post if all goes good for more than 4 shots. Edit: I ended up going with another model they sell and shot it about the same amount of times and was able to get the first deer with it this year. The crossbow is holding up so far and i received a full refund for the broken one. I believe this may have just been a bad apple but the crossbow I went for is the XP410 Crossbow and so far I’m happy with it. It also came sighted in already very little adjustments.

my second barnett xbow
Can't beat the speed and accuracy of this affordable bow. My old barnett wildcat is ten years old, and never failed me. my wife got this for me for my birthday and what a difference. narrower limbs, lighter weight, shoots faster and dead accurate. I mainly hunt white tail deer in North Carolina (130-175lb deer) and get clean pass throughs every time with carbon express bolts with grim reaper 125 grain mechanical broadheads. I would take an elk or wild hog with this and be confident in an ethical harvest. Get outdoors!

Attention
