EGO Power+ ME0820 8-in Multi-Head Edger with Carbon Fiber Shaft and Power Head PH1420, Pairs Multi-Head System, Battery and Charger Not Included.

Cleared an enormous amount of brush and briars, and this thing cut thru that stuff like butta! Some that were size of a pencil were no match. Still others that were big as my thumb or bigger, took a little more doing but still, no trouble, just treated this beast like a saw blade and got 'er done in no time, the worst of the bunch taking no more than 30 seconds to gnaw thru.If you're like me and think the 16" string trimmer's a beast, you'll be blown away by this thing - makes the string trimmer look like a kid's toy! :)I did an area about 160' x 20' in roughly 3 hours, burning thru one large battery, one regular one, plus part of another. Like any of these Ego power tools, there's a dose of fatigue that comes with wielding it that long but nothing onerous. Strap helps immensely.Fantastic value, well worth the investment!

I had the older powerhead unit and decided to give this a try to see if it fit because it said it only works with the newer carbon fiber head units. It worked just fine. It was nice to have the convenience of switching heads rather then just purchasing a blade kit and having to switch everything over every time I wanted to use it. This tool is a beast and helped to quickly clear a lot of tall weeds and overgrowth. Use caution however, this thing can be dangerous!

Wow! This thing is amazing. I bought the power head years ago(1400) with the pole saw attachment. We have a 1/2 acre lot with many trees and brush and didn’t know this was available. First time I used sold me 100%, just like I am on all EGO tools. The expense of the batteries, while daunting at first, is more than recovered in gas savings and ease of use. I currently own a lawn mower, snow blower, leaf blower, trimmer, chainsaw, a power head with the two aforementioned accessories and I couldn’t be more satisfied with them.

First, and most important: Pay close attention to the item you are purchasing. I first purchased a PS1000-FC POLE SAW (PS) with a Telescoping Power Head. Absolutely love it. Not just for limbing trees, but cutting Multi-Flora rose, and Russian Olive (if you are tending acreage).The Pole Saw is a "Stand Alone" tool, which I discovered after I purchased a 'String Trimmer Attachment' (STA) that I thought would connect to the Telescoping Power Head (PH). It did not. (Hence: Stand Alone Tool.)This review is of the newly purchased PH1420FC Power Head, in combination with the STA1600-FC String Trimmer. The (FC) stands for Carbon Fiber Shaft. Worth the up-charge in my opinion.This combination is awesome! To be honest, I can not compare this set-up to any other Battery operated tool on the market, because it's the first Battery Op. I've owned. And I can't guarantee it will last as long as my Gas powered STIHL FS80 which has been tearing up landscapes for over 12years, but, it's quiet, no fumes and cuts great."Know what you're purchasing."All the eGO tools seem to come with a 56-Volt battery. No aye problemo. BUT, they come in different Amp Hours (AH). I purchased a package deal with a Battery, Charger, and String trimmer STA1500 (which I returned for the 1600FC). This battery was 2.5 AH (Amp Hour), which on the above mentioned assembly weed wacked (on high speed) for only about 10 minutes before the battery was spent.I am now switching to the 5 AH battery, which I will try on Low speed, and hope it has a better duration. Raining where I am right now, so I'll update when I see how that goes.When I had the 5 AH battery on the Pole Saw, it cut for over 45 minutes of tough brush without complaint."Update: 22May2025"I have run the (STA) several times now with both the 2.5AH and the 5AH batteries. Duration is not good. Not getting more than 15 mins of cutting time, even at the slow speed. The 5AH makes the tool a lot heavier, and I am finding the need to constantly adjust the shoulder strap and the location of the handle strap to take the pressure off the trigger arm. I am 6'-4".It does a great job cutting, and to be fair, I am cutting over 1500 feet of fence line, as well as other areas around the house and farm. It may be, if you live in a development, and maintaining only an 1/8th or a half acre you would not have these issues.

Good deal, had to order another battery for this product but no complaints. I love Ego products. Edger does the job.

the build quality on this is much better than the other brands, including Stihl. Aluminum shroud, metal all over. After just one use, even with the wheel not quite adjusted right, it did a great job.

This accessory works perfectly with my edger. I’m a big fan of Ego products and own a wide range of them, and this one doesn’t disappoint. It’s high-quality and helps me achieve a polished lawn quickly and effortlessly.
