Excellent book. Do not know why Book 2 alone ...
Excellent book. Do not know why Book 2 alone is of a different size, paper-quality and print. There is no doubt, Vedic Maths is an excellent gift for any school child as it is able to motivate the child to go deeper in Maths.

This book suffers from identity crisis
First you need to learn what vedic mathematics is. It is not actually vedic or ancient. It is a set of mathematical rules created by a person named Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Bharti Krishnaji Tirthaji Maharaj. He was a 20th century guy. Not that old. He wrote his own book on vedic mathematics which is not recommended because he really does not know how to explain mathematics. In short, a Vedic Mathematics book is a set of short cut calculation methods. And there are far better books for that with far more methods that do not call themselves vedic maths, like Kelly's. However, if you absolutely must know more about the buzzword in mathematics world that is "Vedic Maths", then this is the book. There are other books called Vedic Maths that are essentially a collection of general purpose quicker maths techniques. They do not tell you what is vedic maths and what isn't. But Glover tells you exactly what the Vedic Maths sutras are. It does not contain all the sutras. It does not need to. Many of the sutras are highly impractical. But the format of this book is very bad. This book is too big. All the vedic maths sutras could fit in the first part alone. Instead Glover has unnecessarily padded this book with stuff like algebra, geometry and even coordinate geometry that have nothing to do with vedic maths. He could have used this opportunity to introduce the works of Aryabhatta II and other Indian mathematicians, but he did not. Majority of this book is filler and serves no purpose. He essentially tried to write a general purpose maths book for teaching kids that happens to use vedic mathematics as the main method. But there are three flaws here. One, vedic mathematics is not a comprehensive set of quicker maths rules. There are other quicker maths rules that kids need to learn, including soroban techniques. Those methods are not included in this book. Two, this is not a good general purpose maths book. It does not even have unitary method, so it will not even qualify as the textbook of class II.Three, the problems given in the exercises are on the easy side. The book is nowhere close to the standard of Staynor or K. C. Nag's book.Overall, you are much better off getting Kelly for quicker maths and Staynor for general exercises. Glover's book is a jack of all trades, master of none. As I said earlier, buy it if you really love the buzzword called "Vedic maths".To finish off, I wanna say that I have taught kids from this book and got good results. At the end of the day it all depends on the teacher and the student. There are some things this book teaches that other books skip entirely. That is to be expected because maths is a subject that does not have a single all-purpose book.
