JSAUX RGB Transparent Back Plate for ROG Ally X, DIY Replacement Shell

Definitely leveled up the look of my device. Quality seems decent, came with everything you need to install, and it’s priced decently. Installation was simple and I’m happy with my purchase.

Worked like a charm on my ASUS rog ally x. The installation instructions were very vague had to watch a YouTube video about install. Of course the video I watched the guy was dumb and didn’t know to tape up the light sensor inside the rog ally x, and the directions don’t mention it although they supply the black tape to do it. System wouldn’t reboot ended up watching a second video and the guy was very smart and mentioned the light sensor, I taped it up and had to hard reset with a long power button press and everything worked great. Backplate, grips and RGB Lighting looks awesome. I upgraded my SSD also so the heat sink was awesome too, doesn’t block air flow at all and keeps the heat away from the micro SD card slow, evenly distributing lower heat more throughly and evenly throughout the system. My top recommended Mod especially if your upgrading internal storage.

I came across a post from rog ally x Reddit and saw some one do this mod and I was curious and checked amazon and the price was not bad at all. Even gave me a $5 coupon discount so That was nice. Modding your ally x for this shell isn’t hard. Watched a YouTube video and was done modding less than 20 minutes. What I like about this set here is the shell lights uses a independent battery and can continuously light up for 2 hours straight (which is more than I need) so you’re not using the ally X’s battery which is nice. Also includes parts to cools down your ally x by 10% more. Gotta love that specially playing a AAA gaming like Doom Dark ages. This also comes with side covers so the grip is even better. Doesn’t slip off and they design it so the cover can shows the lights in the back vertically which is very nice. Without the cover the lights can be very bright with the cover the lights a little bit darker. I definitely recommend getting this shell mod. Totally worth every penny

Item works well. Especially combined with PTM7950 to replace the old thermal paste on the APU. These two combined mods have completely negated the throttling of the CPU during use of the turbo power mode. Installation is easy and the plastic is high quality. If you get a dud, contact JSAUX directly, they replaced the one that was bad within about a week and a half. And it probably saves them some headache too. Totally satisfied and impressed by the level of Customer service and care they provided and will always rest assured their products are backed by real people.

This back plate fit great and was easy to install. I ended up returning it though as it does not have grips on the case and rely on the rubber sleeve which gets in the way and does not offer a comfortable grip for longer periods of time. If you are ok with the rubber grips then this could work. Overall I liked the back plate and the colors but I couldn’t play my games comfortably so I didn’t keep it.

Bought my Ally about 10 days ago and wanted to modify it, already upgraded the SSD and found this rear shell for a shell swap. Saw the excellent reviews, so I pulled the trigger and got it for $29.99. The install was foolproof. Just undo 6 screws on the factory rear, and it pulls off easily with your fingers. Move the two programmable buttons and the shoulder buttons to the new shell, apply one of the small squares of tape to the light sensor. Install your chosen RGB design template and place the RGB unit and then pop the rear shell onto the Ally and screw it down. I forgot about the captive screw the first time I did it, but you'll want to transfer the small plastic washer on the captive screw JSAUX thankfully include some blank RGB covers, so I borrowed my wife's Cricut and using black vinyl I was able to create an ROG logo for the RGB panel and it looks like a factory option. I am very happy with the shell and RGB unit, it really makes my unit stand out with some personality. The build quality of the plastic is superb, there were no sharp edges whatsoever and it clicks together nicely and comes apart nicely too. It's a real change from the usual Aliexpress shells I'm used to for other handhelds. If you're thinking of buying it, you should - it's a solid product.

Just received and installed on my Ally X. A heads up, if you have an SSD with a heating installed, the additional cooling will not fit. However, it is not needed. Very simple install. I couldn’t believe how low the price is compared to the quality. Feels premium when installed and it’s completely smooth compared to the OEM grippy back plate. RGB is all separate from the Ally, and the button is recessed with its own Type-C port. Looks incredible too. I love this and wish I had bought it sooner. Not a fan of the silicon grips but nice that they are included!

This is incredible quality. I bought this because my Ally X had a slight creak to it when twisting it no matter how much I tightened the screws. Not only does this fix the issue, but it makes the device feel so much more premium. I really appreciate that Jsaux gives you everything you need for the installation (like the screw driver and plastic pry piece) and the rubber grips are actually great as well. If you are on the fence and questioning if this makes a real difference, the answer is a solid yes.

I expected a lot, since it's coming from Jsaux, I was honestly not disappointed. Installation was very easy. Remove buttons, and put on the new case, make sure the RGB module is in and the "light sensor" is covered. Sticker on the battery and it's good to go!

Sieht richtig gut aus und ist einfach zu installieren. Es gibt eine "offizielle" Anleitung auf YouTube, aber auch schon einige YouTuber die ausführliche Anleitungen hochgeladen haben. Es wurde alles nötige mitgeliefert und sogar noch Ersatzschrauben. Dazu noch niedrigere Temperaturen als mit der Original Backplate. In welchen Fällen man die RGB Funktion nutzt - keine Ahnung. Man sieht ja selber nix von :D

Very good and beautiful clear back shell for the Ally, the freebies also are really good quality and was definitely a plus. Also has the same size of the original back shell, so no incompatibility regarding cases and accessories
